AVP - Legal Counsel - Investment Banking

Responsibilities:

- Work and negotiate on commercial agreements /arrangements with third parties, and employee relations and regulatory issues, including tax and financial regulations.

- To identify and manage the regulatory compliance checklist, legal and financial risk across the business, support investigations, cross examinations, reports and work closely with global teams

- To provide opinions and liaise / manage external advisers/counsels/investigators as instructed by the business

- To develop and manage legal framework and contract management to ensure that the business legal risk is protected.

- Work on standardized legal documentation to ensure that it is legally appropriate.

- To ensure that all aspects of legal risk and policies across the business are identified, covered and controlled in relation to the business’s activities.

- Draft and vet legal notices, replies, letters and documents for the company.

- Manage effectively all litigations in respect of civil, criminal, labour, taxation, company law cases by liasioning and advising the advocates and through personal appearance before various courts and tribunals, viz. Arbitrators, Civil Courts, Consumer Court and High Court;

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiation of various forms of lease deeds, contracts and agreements, including material supply agreement, service agreements, master service agreements, confidentiality agreements, company lease accommodation agreements, change control notes, PO terms and conditions.

Skills:

Minimum 9 years post qualification experience with knowledge of Corporate, law firm, court practice skills and investigations, commercial contracts, real estate, employment relations and company law.

Preferable to have experience working for a MNC or BPO.
