Assistant VP- Funding and Liquidity Support - Interest Allocation (PC)
Main duties:
- Daily ownership of funding allocation and reporting for significant businesses within the Investment Bank
- Develop a sound understanding of the funding and FX sell off position from detailed discussions with key stakeholders.
- Review and provide P&L and B/S substantiation and reporting including explain, reconciliation, commentaries and adherence to accounting principles.
- Month end ledger close responsibilities, including substantiation
- Provide management with technical and operational analysis of the funding position.
- Draw sound conclusions to present to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure team’s KPI and SLAs are met.
- Regular interaction with Front Office, Operations and Product control.
- Ongoing monitoring and control around integrated funding processes
- Investigation and resolution of control gaps/issues around Interest allocation
- Foster a culture of performance improvement by serving as a lead for recommendations.
Controls
- Ensure the maintenance of a strong internal control environment.
- Monitoring team activity to ensure compliance with various policies.
- Ensure clean audit results from internal and external reviews.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of key documentation for key PC processes, risk assessments and SOX documentation.
- Raise the team’s level of control awareness. Lead by example and encourage strong control culture.
Projects and continuous improvements
- Run initiatives to improve existing funding allocation processes
- Support strategic enhancement of the funding allocation processes
- Identify and drive process re-engineering and constantly challenge status quo for control improvements and process efficiency.
- Motivate and empower the team to deliver continuous improvements.
- Working on other projects within Funding and Liquidity Support when required
Essential qualifications and experience
- 5/8 years work experience
- Strong knowledge of treasury/interest rate products
- Product Control experience or experience in a funding related function for a large organisation
- Demonstrate appreciation of controls, process enhancement and improvement
- Strong Excel and Access skills (VBA not required)
