Assistant Vice President - FMG Systems (CFM)

- This is an Opportunity for a finance Business Analyst with accounting and systems background to manage & support global trading finance systems.

- The role entails effective management of trading finance systems with proactive communication and resolution of any system issues impacting daily finance operations.This role also will require a highly effective team player who is experienced in working on a diverse project portfolio across multiple financial processes and systems.

Detailed Role Requirements :

Team and Project Management :

- Managing a team responsible for Financial Management Group's (FMG) Commodities & Futures Market (CFM) Systems

- Prioritize systems issues and Projects pipeline so that resources are directed in accordance to Finance user needs

- Help Technology in clarifying Project requirements / scope and agree on delivery timelines

- Manage new demand and support transitions following established methodologies and control frameworks.

- Help Identify opportunities to improve processes in a fast changing systems landscape

System management :

- Working closely with Corporate Operations Group (technology) and other businesses to resolve system issues and implement enhancements / improvements

- Proactively identify and propose systems enhancements to alleviate Finance user pain points

- Represent Trading Finance Line teams and other Finance stakeholders in discussions with Systems Support teams

- Support User Acceptance Testing of systems in scope, report issues / defects and liaise with Finance user to obtain sign-off

- Proactively communicate to finance users about any system issues.

- Delivery of BAU of key Trading systems and maintain the integrity of the System's Reference / Mapping table data (MTS & GCS) - includes supporting Product Control team in generating and analyzing system performance metrics

- Co-ordinate monthly regional prioritization process for systems change requests

- Ensure systems operating procedures for Finance users are up-to-date at all times

- Learn and proactively embed systems knowledge across the wider finance team.

- Conduct training for any new system changes.

- Own and drive documentation of detailed business requirements for prioritised system enhancements

- Co-ordinate with Operational Excellence leads and Finance Line teams to ensure benefits reporting is up-to-date for systems change requests

- Deliver user access reviews, maintain system documentation and support ad-hoc system report generation requests

- Conduct root cause analysis of commonly occurring problems and work closely with Technology for long term resolution

Static management :

- Ensure control and integrity over static data is maintained.

- Review any changes made by other users to ensure they are in line with the architecture.

System testing and analysis :

- Perform functional testing for any new products, markets or books.

- Support any migration from systems perspective.

- Providing viable solutions to the clients with options after understanding the requirements.

- Ability to anticipate and identify potential problems and demonstrate a proven track record in doing RCA and solving complex and ambiguous issues.

- Proficiency in setting and meeting realistic deadlines to achieve desired/meaningful outcomes.

Comms & Reporting :

- Proactively communicate status and progress on key items to Finance stakeholders

- Develop and continuously improve reports to enable timely communication of status on IT deliveries

- Track and maintain SLAs.

- Provide inputs to Management committee report.

- Support PMO Lead in developing presentations for potential opportunities & project business cases

Skills & competency required :

- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to explain and write in English business requirements at a high standard that key stakeholders will understand

- Ability to coordinate a meeting globally on the phone

- Looking for a proactive dynamic person that is a self starter.

- PC background would be desirable

- Working as a BA in investment banking is desirable

- Good understanding of trading products and accounting.

- Process/Systems/Data Mapping skills - well developed ability to define and document processes and capture process/system/data requirements end-to-end.

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills - Ability to investigate business issues and identify technical root causes

- High attention to details

- Excellent communication and engagement skills - verbal and written. Communication skills are required as the role will involve interaction with clients & colleagues at various levels; ability to engage senior stakeholders

- Strong MS Office skills - MS Excel, MS Power-point & MS Word.

- 'Can do' attitude, with a proven record of delivering within a project team.

- Experience with senior stakeholder engagement - ability to work in a high paced ambiguous and matrixed environment

- Flexibility, tenacity and the ability to maintain enthusiasm on long-running or difficult process re-design initiatives

- The ability and self-confidence to work independently and increase the scope of the service line

- Pragmatic approach to problem solving

- Be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

- Willingness for overseas travel.

- Willingness to work in different time zones to support clients.

Experience/Certifications required :

- Finance/Accounting background (at least B Com). MBA would also be useful.

- Minimum 8-12 years of post qualification experience.

- Experience in dealing with Trading Finance Systems or other Finance systems, and driving SLA based Systems operations

- Finance industry experience/background is a must (investment banking & accounting) - product control or systems accounting would be ideal

- Some exposure to project management and process improvement methodologies is preferred

- Certification in Project Management or six-sigma will be an added advantage

- Very strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
