Your Responsibilities :

If you are looking to apply for the role of AVP Grade 7 - Fin Crime, you will be required to:

- Business Model : Ensure that all staffs understand the concept of client life cycle management and its associate with Natwest Markets strategies and their role in delivering those strategies. Ensure clear and unambiguous roles and responsibilities are agreed

- Culture : Define, drive and shape the culture of the department to embed strategic R&DS goals throughout all levels. Work in partnership with Front Office and RMs to ensure they fully understand the R&DS strategy and agenda, building a climate of continuous data quality improvement through DTL concepts

- Best Practice : Participate in Industry forums and regularly review market initiatives through vendor management in order to maintain & drive forward Data Quality best practice. Seek out opportunities to engage new functions/ learn new skills to enhance capability of themselves and the wider team

- Efficiency and Cost Management : Drive disciplined cost management and a culture of cost consciousness and operational excellence

- Point of Contact : Act as a point of escalation for query raised and monitor the workflow management

- Fin Crime Metrics : Ensure Fin Crime / CDD teams operate within meaningful thresholds on defined KPIs/KRIs

- Problem Solving/Issue Resolution : Recognises the dynamics and relationships between Client On-Boarding related problems, issues and situations and considers at the bigger picture. Considers the implications of different scenarios and compares the risks/benefits of solutions. Takes calculated risks to achieve service excellence. Anticipates potential problems and takes pre-emptive action, removing barriers that constrain successful delivery

- Collaborating for Success : Working with internal stakeholders - Front Office, Middle Office, Settlements, Confirmations and Reference Data team leads - recognising and using the diversity within the team, to deliver against cross-divisional On-boarding and regulatory requirements

- Client Focus : Understand the full end-to-end Client Lifecycle and identify opportunities for streamlining and optimisation with the aim of providing an excellent customer experience

- Customer Delivery : Ensure seamless execution of delivery of commitments to NWM customers and internal stakeholders in adherence to the SLA

- Reputation : Build, safeguard and uphold the reputation of NWM across stakeholders: e.g., public, staff, clients, etc.

- Centricity : Embed Service Level Agreements that are in line with industry standards and focus on customer experience by significantly reducing standard cycle times for On boarding & Maintenance

- Supervisory Culture : Where appropriate, supervise direct reports and their activities effectively, including effective record keeping and documentation of key people issues. Ensure direct reports and management teams are competent and have clearly defined responsibilities, both collectively and individually in line with the supervision excellence

- Line of Defence : 1st LD: Complies with relevant NWM Policies, testing and certifying (or considers and escalates) the adequacy and effectiveness of the business's controls on a regular basis; and establishes and documents (or follows and/or maintains) operating procedures which include relevant controls to meet NWM and local policy requirements

- Conduct Risk : To be accountable for ensuring you understand, uphold and promote the Conduct Risk standard pillars:

i. Employee Conduct

ii. Corporate Conduct

iii. Market Conduct

iv. Conduct Towards our Customers

- Risk Appetite and Business Quality : Ensure business is conducted within Risk appetite

- Operating Disciplines and Controls : Establish controls, risk assessments and assurance programmes, monitoring of risk and controls to identify, assess and manage any material risks which may arise

- Risk Culture : Promote appropriate business and risk aware behaviours and compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements and NWM policies

- Risks & Issues : Work with the NWM Risk & Controls team and BAU line managers to review and remediate risks and issues (Orbits) relating to CLM Teams

- Ensure inefficient / ineffective data processes are identified and drive forward efficiency and quality benefits, reducing bureaucracy

- Encourage the team to initiate the optimisation projects to drive out operational efficiency through DTL tools and techniques

- Performance Management: Comply with HR performance processes by setting objectives for all direct reports and conducting mid/full year performance reviews

- People development: Take an active role in the development of people, attracting, retaining and developing talent. Build capability, robust succession plans, and talent management and improve working environment. Encourage mobility across functions and geographies. Draw attention to, and reward, individual success

Skills you need :

- Qualified Professional or Post Graduation

- At least 8 years of experience in financial services with 4 years of experience leading and motivating a team

- Excellent analytical skills coupled with a structured methodical approach to analyse & investigate data issues

- Ability to create a culture that will facilitate productivity and ensure quality/ change management

- Knowledge of Industry regulatory, compliance and best practices

- Proven ability to build, maintain and enhance relationships at all levels including interacting effectively

- Experience of implementation of long term plans and delivery of large scale projects

- Proven experience of liaising with global stakeholders

- A proven track-record of implementing process improvements and creating a robust Operational Risk control framework

- Experience in project management and process re-engineering

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Good interpersonal skills

- Ability to influence others and win support

- Ability to question and challenge confidently

- Flexible and proactive work style
