Note: This opening is with Financial Management Consulting firm who provides CFO services to multi-industry Tier 2/3 companies

Responsibilities:

- No less than 4 years (may include articleship) at a Big 4 professional services firm. Candidate should have experience of having managed a portfolio of clients during this tenure. Candidates from an auditing background are preferred in relation to tax.

- No less than 10 years in the industry after Big 4 experience. Candidate should have significant manufacturing background. Services experience is preferred (eg: education, ecommerce) but is not mandatory. Only service is rejected. Candidates will significant portion of their careers in trading companies or in BPO or in shared centre facilities or in BFSI segments are reject.

- should have worked with Indian promoter groups. MNC experience is preferred, but is not mandatory. Only MNC experience is reject.

- Candidate should have worked in a minimum of 3 industries in his career

- Candidate should have an average tenure of 3+ years during his career

- Candidate should have worked in companies at different growth stages: start up, growth phase, mature business

- Candidates with experience of having worked in a PE/ VC invested environment are preferred. Candidates who have taken their company to IPO are preferred.

- Candidate should have worked in atleast 1200+Cr turnover company

Experience/Desirables:

Should have the following functional skills (mandatory)

- supervision of day to day accounts

- generation of monthly MIs (PL, BS, CF)

- routine compliance

- closing audits (he should have been audited by a big 4 auditor)

- faced internal audits

- reporting/ presented to board of directors

- raised loans from Banks (ask for how much money they have raised)

- drafted SOPs

- worked in an ERP environment

- made business process improvements

- led cost reduction initiatives

- assisted in costing/ pricing decisions

- evaluated insurance products'

- reviewed supplier, customer contracts

- managed cash flow

- managed credit control to customers

- evaluated BU/ profit centre/ product profitability

- dealt with tax authorities

- dealt with tax consultants, company secretaries, lawyers

- managed atleast 2 out of sales tax/VAT, service tax, excise duty, customs duty

- led ERP implementation

- raised PE/ VC funding

- acquired a company or a business

- supported a rapid scale up in the business

- turnaround in a sick/ cash stressed company

- taken a company to DRHP/ IPO

- led supply chain or commercial or purchase functions, in addition to F&A

Soft skills:

- excellent verbal communication skills (can articulate his point of view clearly)

- confident and is able to carry himself well

- not flashy or over aggressive

- project management skills, ability to predict problems in advance

- high energy, self-managed

- can command respect of a high quality team of CAs at our end

- needs to be a team player.
