Job Description:

- Managing existing and emerging operational risks impacting Global Finance Centers (GFC) arising in the course of migration/offshoring

- Managing business expectations of key participants and stakeholders by supporting migration/ offshoring process in accordance with timelines agreed by stakeholders in the migration process, and proactively reporting on progress and reasons for delays.

- Proactively managing migration project risks

- Documentation of risk and control assessments and assessing controls for new migrations and identification of appropriate control improvements and action plans consistent with GSM and FIM.

- Documentation of Management Self-Identified Issues (MSII) identified in the course of migration including project risks and monitoring implementation of action plans

- Ensuring MSII for new migrations are complete and accurate by ensuring all issues in the issues log are appropriately reflected in the MSII database on Sharepoint.

- Monitoring that all issues are fully addressed and compliant with guidance issued by GFCO before go live date and key stakeholders closely informed on progress.

- Ensuring all exceptions are closely tracked to closure and are within risk appetite and no exceptions are carried forward without appropriate risk acceptance and sign-off by key stakeholders

- Ensuring due diligence in the process of business impact analysis and identification of key deliverables in emergency situations and obtaining concurrence and sign-off by all stakeholders before finalizing the criticality rating of process to be migrated

- Assisting in development of robust PLA documentation by providing inputs on key performance indicators and emergency expectations in BCP situations.

- Working with process owners to finalize key risk indicators for new process migrations

- Ensuring End User Computing (EUC) risk are identified, risk assessed by the EUC owner and managed in line with the bank Group FIM expectations

- Establishing business continuity testing programs and process of establishment of an assurance program calendar before go live date

- Managing process inventory databases and ensuring they are complete and accurate at all times with new migrations and changes to key deliverables in processes

- Establishing a robust RCA for the process under migration by providing inputs on physical security threats, country risks, information risks, operation risks, compliance, accounting and tax risks and management on management of operational risks within the banking Group risk appetite

- Establishing dash boards, risk score cards, process issue logs, metrics to support governance processes around operational risk

- Ensuring full compliance with Global Finance Control Office guidance for new migrations

- Establishment of appropriate governance processes that ensure complete , accurate and timely communication with GFCO and all stakeholders on all migrations and open issues

- Monitoring completion of compliance schedules and implementation of appropriate action plans.

- Augmenting work done by on-shore business partners by documenting process flows and controls and monitoring adequacy of documentation in higher risk areas to support BCP and HSBC Group expectations (including department instruction books and SOX process documentation)

- Utilizing the bank's endorsed systems and applications and ensuring full adherence to Guidance issued by Central functions like Global Finance Control Office for recording risks and controls and MSII

Skills

- Expert knowledge of the process of offshoring of Finance function processes to GFC per expectations of the banking Group Standards Manual (GSM) and Functional Instruction Manuals (FIM)

- Expert knowledge of management of Business Continuity risks

- Strong understanding of tools for evaluation of process design and identification of design gaps within Finance processes

- Sound understanding of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)

- Strong knowledge of Info Security and Compliance risk impacting Finance function

- Expert knowledge of control framework within Global Finance Function including nature of primary & secondary controls and SOX controls.

- Thorough understanding of risk and controls assessments and assessment of effectiveness of controls in the area of operational risk

- Proven ability in establishing performance metrics arising out of the PLA and establishing appropriate monitoring mechanism

- Sound knowledge of establishing Key Risk Indicators in line with operational risks and acceptable monitoring and reporting processes in consultation with business partners before go-live date

- Sound knowledge, with hands-on experience on process migrations, maintenance of issue logs and identification and resolution of design gaps and remediation of ineffective controls.

- Thorough knowledge of process documentation and the banking Group expectation on Department Instruction books

- Expert understanding of the process of identification and documentation of management self-identified issues and action plans in line with banking Group risk appetite per FIM.

- Good knowledge of ORIC framework and process of identification, recording and monitoring MSII till closure of action plans

- Experience of working closely with cross border teams, operational risk functions and regulators.

- Expert knowledge of establishment and maintenance of Governance procedures and management of migration project risks

- Expert knowledge of Compliance risk impacting Finance function procedures

- Good knowledge of Business Continuity Planning, BIA rating, and FTE effort and critical activity analysis in the context of financial processes, procedures and controls

- Good working knowledge of financial services sector and prior experience of banking business environment

- Sound understanding of Financial Processes, procedures, controls and functions.

- A good understanding of banking Group ORIC framework, Functional Instruction Manuals and Group Standard Manuals

- Good Analytical skills.

- Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal team, wider Finance Community, Legal, Tax, SOX, Compliance

- Ability to challenge information presented providing reasonable explanation to ensure that agreement is reached by both parties.

- Good interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with team members/wider business including senior executive management and ability to develop a good rapport in challenging situations.

- Proactive in relationships with other departments e.g. Compliance, Legal

- Strong business writing skills

- Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Access, Excel and PowerPoint is required.

- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines

- Self motivated and capable of working effectively as part of a team

- Experience with ORION and Sharepoint

Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in related field or commensurate experience

- CA 10-plus years

- Project Management

- IT qualification (B tech, CISA etc. preferred)
