AVP - Client Insights & Analytics - BFS

The role requires sound understanding of Investment Banking Secondary Trading Business and financial markets (Fixed Income Securities in particular), good eye for detail and an ability to liaise with the Senior Business Managers, trading desks and Technology teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of critical business strategy inputs.

Key Accountabilities :

- Supporting the build out and integration of tools and reporting used to support Front Office decision making around client capital and client profitability

- Working with Technology partners, support the roll out of existing tools

- Becoming the point of contact for the user base of CIA tools and reporting, solving problems and answering queries around the underlying data/analysis

- Designing and developing analysis around client capital in order to drive further improvement of returns across the business

- Working with partners in Markets, Banking, Corporate Bank, Payments and Infrastructure in order to implement capital optimisation initiatives

- Supporting the firm's strategic response to regulatory initiatives by analysing the impact on financial resources and identifying means to manage it

- Contribute to the development of CIA tools and reporting including expansion of the Client Cross-Sell framework to achieve targeted revenue growth and maximize returns opportunities across CIB

- Contribute to the development of best in class client insights dashboard by working with business stakeholders and technology partners to harmonise existing or new client insight tools and platforms

- Support the firm's strategic response to regulatory initiatives by analysing the impact on financial resources and identifying means to manage it

- On-demand analysis for business stakeholders with creation of presentations to support insights

o This role requires someone who is comfortable liaising with multiple internal stakeholders - including partners in Global Markets, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Payments, Private Bank, Finance, Treasury, Risk and Technology. The ideal candidate should also be comfortable communicating across different levels of seniority - understanding and solving problems, explaining complex concepts, answering queries and explaining complex concepts.

Person Specification

- The ideal candidate should be a bright, self-motivated, numerate, analytical and systematic individual

Qualification:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a numerate discipline from a top university

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

- Positive and proactive approach to problem solving

- Understanding of financial metrics (P&L, MtM, LBS, RWAs, funding)

- Track record in prising actionable insights from large and complex financial data sets

- Communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to articulate complex concepts clearly

- Demonstrable analytical, design and problem solving skills with ability to prioritise and pivot seamlessly between tasks

- Ability to take ownership of tasks

- Ability to analyse issues and requirements in order to propose solutions

- Ability to work on many tasks in parallel

- Have some experience with SQL

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience of working across Risk, Finance, Treasury, Structuring or Capital management space advantageous

- Experience of developing tools (e.g. pricing/reporting/scenario analysis/analytics) to support decision making and working effectively with technology teams to deliver on projects

- Product Development Experience is a plus

- Data mining hands-on experience of manipulating/transforming/processing large data sets using SQL or similar technologies

- Experience of other programming languages, e.g. Python, R, SAS etc
