Job Description: 

BPF Finance: Business Planning and Analysis

Our core purpose is to drive, manage and optimise strategic and financial decision making through the provision of specialist advisory and control services, delivered through stakeholder-facing CFOs, business partners and Centres of Excellence that are aligned to businesses and functions

Overall purpose of role :

- Lead business partner for delivering the internal reporting requirements for Barclays Partner Finance

- To undertake Ad-hoc financial analysis in order to provide further insight to the performance of the business

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

 Key specific accountabilities:

- To be the primary contact for the end to end process for delivering the internal reporting requirements of the business. 

- This includes performance reporting for internal BPF stakeholders (Monthly ExFo and MBRs) and to external stakeholders such as central BP&A. This incorporates managing the month end close process, including preparing and posting journals, producing daily result outlook schedules (Wd1-Wd5) with insightful commentary explaining the story behind the numbers, and supporting other colleagues with their month end responsibilities and ensuring they are delivered on time.

- Will also be responsible for preparing the formal monthly Performance slides that are used in ExFo reviews and MBRs. This includes explaining performance for all elements of the P&L (Income, cost and impairment) and also the key business drivers. To undertake Ad-hoc analytics regarding business performance. To offer insight into risks and opportunities that may impact the business- ability to deliver on its financial commitments.

- Stakeholder management and leadership. As primary business contact for internal reporting, you will be expected to establish strong working relationships with Financial Control, Central BP&A, Credit Risk, Treasury, BX finance, and the wider BPF and C&P finance teams. There will also be opportunities to present to the BPF ExFo team and senior finance stakeholders in Cards and Payments. You also need to be able to explain business performance to financial and non-financial stakeholders.

- Decision making and problem solving. Ability to identify opportunities to enhance the financial reporting and analytical capability of the finance function focusing on performance against specific strategic targets, e.g. Motor and Retail vs MTP. Ability to work proactively using own initiative to assimilate data and produce insightful and value adding management information. Ability to work closely with a variety of stakeholders to produce month end results, and communicate those to both financial and non-financial stakeholders including articulating the key business drivers of performance. Use this knowledge to produce Ad-hoc analysis.

- Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include
