AVP - Analytics - Risk & Fraud - Bank

AVP Analytics (Risk & Fraud) for an MNC Bank in Bangalore.

This role is to support Retail Risk Management by handling complex operational demands and develop
sustained processes to strengthen the hiring, training, budget, project management and BRCM (Business
Risk and Control Management) capabilities working in coordination with internal and external constituencies.

Principal Accountables :

- Identify key operational challenges and formulate initiates to minimize them, garners support from relevant
stakeholders and tracks & monitor progress.

- Act as project manager for identified strategic initiatives ensuring follow-through and sustaining momentum
needed to drive initiatives to completion.

- Direct and manage aspects of the BRCM function and capability in the execution of an effective operational
risk and internal control management program, identifying and assess operational risks and controls within
risk teams.

- Assist risk analytics team in establishment of ''end to end'' ownership of operational risks, controls, and
processes by monitoring the ongoing effectiveness of key controls.

- Partner with business leaders including line managers and HR colleagues to drive people strategies along with
appropriate organizational effectiveness interventions when required.

- Provide ongoing analysis and decision support to the team to improve productivity and governance.

- Create strong processes and controls to minimize operational risks.

- Identify areas of redundancy and facilitate development of enterprise-wide solutions that can deliver
sustainable saves.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (Minimum requirements of the role.)

1. Master’s Degree in Statistics, Economics having 8+ years of experience in handling Analytics into Risk &
Fraud Analytics using SAS as a tool.

2. Experience in Risk Analytics & working on SAS is mandatory.

3. Experience of demonstrating strong trouble shooting and creative solution skills.

4. Excellent communication skills and project management skills.

5. Strong analytical skills with an ability to grasp new concepts quickly.

6. Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills.

7. Discerning ability to recognize salient business issues that “move the needle”.
