Job Summary:

Operating as part of a passionate and successful team, our Customer Account Managers are responsible for selling Avalara's complete range of Tax Technology solutions and services to our customers in the USA region, and working with our Customer Success Team to gain intimate knowledge or our customers business and deliver a best in class experience.

Job Duties:

- Qualify, adeptly manage the sales process, needs analysis, negotiations and close sales opportunities.

- Become a trusted business partner to clients by understanding their business goals and recommending suitable solutions, using expert knowledge of Avalara's suite of products and services.

- Articulate and present the value delivered by Avalara products and services to various levels within an organization to ensure renewal and expansion sales.

- Manage a pipeline of customer add-on and up sell solution sales and service renewals which is measured against a quota.

- Consistently achieve and exceed monthly booking goals through self-motivation, goal setting and solution driven approaches to problem solving.

- Act as an escalation point; document problem description(s) with detail and record action steps taken in Salesforce.com.

- Provide timely forecasts to direct manager as well as track customer interactions, leveraging multiple technology solutions including Salesforce.

- Present a professional image via communication skills, both proactively and when under duress.

- Develop and maintain a high level of industry knowledge and Avalara's offerings.

- Team player that is highly motivated, competitive, and coachable.

Qualifications:

- Graduate/PG with a minimum of 5-7 years of quota carrying sales experience, with mandatory experience of deal closure in US / EU markets

- Proven experience and success in a quota-carrying sales role in US / EU market (mandatory)

- Experience being held to and motivated by metrics.

- Excellent written/verbal communication skills both internally and externally.

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.

- Strong problem-solving skills.

- Experience in cloud based software sales is ideal.

- Solid knowledge of desktop productivity tools and experience using CRM systems (e.g., salesforce.com)

- Consultative, Command of the Message, Value Selling, or other solution-based sales methodology knowledge and experience.
