Role : Associate Research Specialist : Fixed Income

Reports to:

- Research Support Manager, Gurgaon

Job Overview:

- The job involves providing comprehensive research support to European Fixed Income analysts, including on financial modelling, credit analysis, structured products analysis, sector/country updates, and other custom research work.

- Person should have a good understanding of fixed income instruments and the broader financial research process.

Responsibilities (to note down five to eight primary duties performed in this position):

- Provide all round research support to European FI analysts, including on new and on-going coverage

- Prepare detailed financial models, cash flow models (for instruments), comp sheets, industry studies and company notes. Perform basic statistical analysis

- Provide quality data and analysis to make the research process more efficient and robust

- Keep abreast of important trends and developments in the relevant sectors/geographies

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and within the team

- Make regular presentations to the team on relevant topics/areas of expertise. Train junior team members

Key Skills/Experience (Specific knowledge and technical skills that are required to perform the position):

- Good understanding of the fixed income domain (instrument structures, spreads, price drivers, macro economic numbers and their impact etc.) and the wider capital markets

- Financial Skills - excellent understanding of financial statements, numbers and ratios. Experience in modelling

- Analytical / Problem solving skills, with a logical thought process - to sort, analyse and creatively interpret large amounts of qualitative and quantitative data

- Deep knowledge of a sector / geography - key drivers, dynamics, trends and indicators - would be advantageous

- Database skills - Bloomberg, Datastream and other core financial databases

- Good relationship management, and strong communication and presentation skills

Years of Experience: 1-3 years work experience in fixed income research

Education: MBA from a prominent institute or CPA or CFA or Masters in Finance

External Relationships:

- Sell-side For factual information, analysis, reports and models

- Industry wide bodies To catch the trends early

- Database vendors For information needs and training

Internal Relationships:

- Analysts Drive initial work flow. Use research to identify investment opportunities

- Portfolio managers Consumers of research pieces, they factor research into investments

- Manager For regular work related issues and for career development
