Associate Manager - R&D - Beauty & Personal Care Category

Role Objective/Purpose of the Role:

The position has overall responsible for Beauty & Personal care category Projects in Business Sustaining function. which includes both Madurai manufacturing and all contract manufacturing sites in India. Lead and execute the projects in the business sustaining in line with supply chain and regulatory requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

The specific focus of an individual in the Business sustaining will be

- Work closely with procurement, I&S, regulatory, Quality and planning to identify critical risks in supply chain in terms of materials, lead time, quality, cost, regulatory risks, etc.

- Develop Standard Operating Procedures and execute the projects in line with Drugs and Cosmetics Act & BIS guidelines.

- Designing, developing and validating new or revised manufacturing processes and equipment, taking into consideration problems inherent in the manufacturing from development stage.

- Leading and facilitating cross functional teams through continuous improvement processes and activities and ensuring standardization in the implementation of process improvement and cost reduction.

- Reviewing product requirements with product development capability of processing methods to determine costs and schedules

- Investigating, specifying and/or supporting new processing technologies, equipment and manufacturing techniques

- Conducting process capability studies throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and implement appropriate changes where necessary to ensure control of those variables

- Analyzing process reliability data to assess and improve manufacturing equipment performance

- Inspecting performance of machinery, equipment and tools to verify their efficiency for new product process development.

- Servicing, troubleshooting and solving production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation

- Coordinating and revalidating changes with changes in raw material or product specifications

- Leading product, process and business systems analysis and assessments to identify gaps and improvement opportunities for strategic and operational transformational activities

- Achieving measurable process improvements by defining, designing and implementing continuous improvement programs using applicable methodology and analytics

- Researching, socializing and implementing best practices in day-to-day processes

- Lead plant trials/start up in support of process qualifications

- Developing validation scope documents for project planning and management

- Developing process qualification and validation protocols for technology transfer projects

- Initiating, implementing and validating changes via change control processes

- Ensuring processes and procedures are in compliance with applicable regulations

- Assisting functional areas in developing operational plans and establishing measurement systems for sustained performance improvements
