Client we are hiring for :

It is a specialised debt vehicle providing non-dilutive and minimally dilutive capital to small and medium size corporates and financial institutions. It is backed by reputed investors like SIDBI Venture Capital, Gray Ghost Ventures (USA), FMO (Dutch Govt Development Finance Institution), DFC (USA), and Triodos Investment Management, apart from its promoter Company Equity. Over the past 9 years, It has provided debt finance of about INR 23bn to more than 220+ small and medium corporate entities across several high-impact sectors like food & agribusiness, financial inclusion, healthcare, clean energy, education, drinking water, etc. It takes an investment approach to lending. Our loan ticket sizes range between INR 0.5-150 million. We provide a wide variety of financial products which include term loans, working capital, purchase order finance, bill discounting, receivables finance, revolving limits, venture debt, subordinated debt, guarantees, quasi-equity, etc. Unlike traditional lenders, It does not make lending decisions based on mortgage collateral but instead, depends upon business data and customised product structuring to make loans to high-impact companies.

Job Purpose/ Description

This dynamic opportunity is for strategic and accomplished professionals to join our organization in a pivotal role. This role, with a focus on fostering an inclusive and empowering environment, is designed to provide all individuals with a platform to excel and contribute significantly to our organisational success. The Sr Associate/ Manager/Sr. Manager - is responsible for originating new business across our focus sectors within start-ups and FI space, building solid relationships in the impact business and fast-growing entrepreneur community, overseeing deal execution, and working towards strengthening the of our brand.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

- Leadership and Individual Contribution (50%): Focus on individual contributions, dedicating approximately half of your time to sourcing and managing key investments.

- Decision-Making and Gatekeeping (30%): Recommend debt proposals, constituting about 30% of your time, and become a gatekeeper for the quality of applicant companies.

- Technology and Process Improvement (10%): Support technology and process improvement initiatives, dedicating 10% of your time to ensure continuous enhancement and efficiency.

Marketing and Communication (10%):

- Contribute 10% of your time to support the marketing and communication team in executing campaigns that focus on lead generation and brand recall. The mentioned time allocation is indicative and subject to flexibility based on organizational needs.

Additional Details on Responsibilities :

Business Development:

- Source debt proposals through professional networking and fieldwork.

- Develop a pipeline for Companies target sectors and foster industry relations with PE/VC funds, banks, financial institutions, and industry associations.

Transaction Execution & Relationship Management:

- Analyze potential investee companies for suitability.

- Manage end-to-end loan processes, including due diligence, risk analysis, credit note preparation, negotiation, and timely turnaround. Establish and maintain portfolio company relationships, taking remedial measures in case of portfolio stresses. Identify opportunities to support investee companies through knowledge sharing and connecting to relevant ecosystems.

Knowledge Building & Mentoring:

- Engage in ongoing knowledge building in target sectors, facilitating the identification of emerging investment opportunities.

- Support the team on business development, customer focus, relationship management, negotiations, and transaction structuring. Technology and Process Improvement: Contribute towards enhancing processes and technology solutions with a customer-focused approach.

Marketing Campaigns:

- Provide ideas for the implementation of marketing campaigns, collaborating closely with the marketing team to facilitate business development. This position aims to foster effective communication at all levels, balance resources for objective achievement, and establish accountability for results.

Qualifications :

- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in lending and/or investing in high-growth businesses

- Extensive experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with entrepreneurs and other stakeholders supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as venture capital/private equity investors, industry associations, sector experts, etc.

- Strong experience in structuring debt transactions for corporate financial institution clients or high-growth impact enterprises. Experience in lending to Financial Institutions is a prerequisite

Key Abilities :

- Deep understanding of issues pertinent to social and environmental impact businesses and the investor ecosystem

- Fundamental understanding of accounting and financial statement analysis

- Ability to conduct secondary and primary research on market and success factors for businesses

- Excellent proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

- Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and independence

- Meticulous attention to detail

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

- Strong personal discipline and planning

- Confidence in working to deadlines without constant detailed supervision

- Ability to thrive and contribute to building a collaborative culture within the team

Travel requirements : Moderate (5-8 days/month), anywhere in India.
