Investment Banking Division Overview:

- Investment Banking provides a full product offering to corporate, sponsor, financial institutions and government / supranational clients. It operates across targeted sectors to deliver strategic advice, financing and derivative solutions to its clients. The investment Banking division includes traditional products such as M&A advisory, Acquisition and Leveraged Finance, Debt and Equity Capital Markets and non-traditional / solutions products such as deal contingent FX and interest rate hedging, swap novation, private placements, and margin lending.

Wholesale Strategy Overview:

- Strategy division is pivotal in shaping company's longer term strategy for Wholesale. The work of the strategy team includes business performance review, analysis of company's business and operating model, market entry strategy, acquisition screening and industry & competitor analysis. The team works directly with senior management across the businesses and regions to determine the optimal strategy for reaching company's wholesale aspirations in the rapidly changing market environment.

Role & Responsibilities :

- Work as a part of the Wholesale Strategy division on global, regional and divisional projects with a focus on Investment Banking

- Support management / businesses on strategic projects and initiatives, long term business growth and overall positioning of the franchise

- Conduct competitor / industry research and analysis, leveraging both public and non-public sources

- Assess the impact of general macroeconomic indicators and emerging market trends

- Identify, analyze and monitor issues that affect profitability, growth and productivity, e.g., client segments behavior, banker time and resource allocation

- Financial forecasting, including fee pool and market share projections, costs and investment planning

- Develop recommendations for business heads

- Prepare management presentations including business plans, business reviews, offsites, town halls, covering financial performance analysis, changes in business environment and key themes impacting earnings

- Work closely with Strategy team members, as well as business CAOs, Finance, HR and other functional teams in different regions; working independently or with the support of other team members

- Role provides wide exposure into investment banking industry across traditional banking (ECM Cash, DCM Cash, M&A, ALF) and non-traditional banking (RSG, SSG, ISG, Equity Solutions), with secondary exposure to other wholesale businesses, such as Fixed Income and Equities

Mandatory

- 2-4 years of relevant work experience in a strategy role, in a consulting firm or a strategy/business planning unit of a financial institution

- Strong analytical skills and excel skills

- Strong with PowerPoint and presentation

- Strong communication skills (written & oral)

- Ability to multi-task efficiently and meet project deadlines

- Attention to detail

Desired :

- Interest in wider investment banking / capital markets industry, including key trends and market dynamics, such as market structure, fintech, regulations
