Finance Associate (0-2 years experience- CA degree mandatory)- New Delhi

Responsibilities:

Budgeting:

- Work with respective Program Leads in preparing budgets, follow-up for quarterly projections, and consolidation for quarterly reviews.

- Track and analyze monthly utilization.

- Conducting financial analysis and F&A reviews of the donor reports.

- Assist in external/internal audits and financial reviews by the donors.

- Assure effective performance of a broad range of support functions having project-wide implications.

- Prepare analytical reports for management/project leads which would help them in planning activities in advance for ensuring proper spending per approved budget.

- Develop tools/systems for improving tracking of expenses as per budget.

Grants Management:

- Monthly review of Expenditure submitted by Program Team and other and posting them in Software. To periodically verify and approve transactions in accordance to approved budget.

- Processing of Employee Reimbursement, Vendor Payment and Advances on timely basis

- Monthly closure of Books of Accounts of all Projects FCRA as well as Non FCRA

- Ensure timely booking of expenses at the time of grant close out.

- Maintains proper documentation of all grant documents and donor guidelines.

- Preparation of Budget Vs Actual of all Projects on monthly basis and ensuring all the activities planned as per budget are completed on timely basis. Regular discussions with the program team to ensure 99% grant fund utilization is met.

- Submission of Statement of Expenditure to donor on quarterly basis

- Working with various program managers/core team in preparing budgets, MIS, Utilization's certificates and other reporting for Donors, sponsors and core management.

Banks Related Tasks :

- By monthly bank reconciliation

- Coordinating with bankers on various day to day financial needs

Statutory Compliances:

- Ensuring timely payment of taxes (PF, GST, TDS).

- Filing of TDS Return on quarterly basis, GST calculations.

- Preparing details for Income Tax assessments, scrutiny, and other related matters.

- Ensuring the organization is in compliance with various filings to FCRA/ROC/Income Tax/

- Provident Fund/ GST, MHA and other statutory organizations. Working closely with the auditors and company secretary for various statutory filings.

Investment:

- Complete track of grant funds investment i.e., Fixed Deposits

Closure of Books of Accounts:

- Handling Finance & Accounts Department: maintaining and overseeing books of Accounts, preparing and finalization of Balance Sheet, preparation of financial statements.

- Working with auditors for - statutory audit, half yearly audit & external audits by Donors

Payroll Processing:

- Preparing and timely disbursement of salaries, calculation and deduction of tax deducted and source.

Cash Flow and Reconciliation:

- Preparation of Cash Flow at the beginning of every month

- Monthly Analysis of all the debtors and creditors to ensure all the receipts and payment are timely cleared.

Procurement:

- Ensuring all procurement is in line with company procurement policy.

FCRA Compliances:

- Maintenance & overseeing FCRA bank accounts/ grants and day to day accounts along with FCRA statutory filings. Following up on various amendments of the FCRA rules, regulations, and statutory filings

Skills and Qualifications:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in managing finance & accounts in a non-profit organization.

- Excellent knowledge of FCRA/GST/Income Tax.

- Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Excel, MS Office/PPT etc. Experience of working with excel based reporting is required.

- Experience of working with accounting software is required. Experience of working with 'Business Central' would be preferred.

- Detail-oriented and rigorous in approach to tasks.

- Excellent Analytical skills.

- Excellent English and Hindi communication skills both written and verbal.

- Flexible work style and demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work.

- Excellent interpersonal and team skills.

- Ability to handle a variety of assignments under stringent project deadlines.

- Willingness and flexibility to work on a wide range of tasks.

- Ability to multi-task and work in a multicultural work environment.

- Wiling to travel as and when required.
