Role:
Looking for an Associate(AVP)- Equity Research covering Banking Sector
Research is a newly created global function that will focus on:
- Financial analysis and competitive information, evaluation of key trends and macro-economic and political and regulatory factors and contribution to product expertise
- Establish creative and multiple sourcing channels for data, news and information, through internal and external efforts
- Support data sourcing and development of data methodologies
- Provide direct input to Business Development effort, on both a macro and client-specific basis
- Contribute to client segmentation and strategy assessment
- Enrich calling program content
- Establish better response to news and market issues
- Contribute to Thought Leadership output, leveraging content from across the Firm
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct fundamental research on global regulatory matters
- Review and analyze existing, new, and pending rules and regulations
- Develop relevant data sources in support of research
- Maintain regular probing and mining of various primary source documents
- Track trends of relevance to Firm clients and client prospects
- Support wide range of research outputs
- Effectively communicate, both verbal and written, key summary findings and analysis
- Contribute to special projects
- Contribute towards specific research papers, forums, and thought leadership initiatives
Key Characteristics of the Candidate:
- Strong creative and analytical skills
- Ability to conduct self-directed research and fact-finding exercises, leveraging internal and external sources
- Demonstrated experience and intuition to understand government fiscal agencies and their programs
- Ability to perform quantitative analysis to distil raw data into usable information
- Familiarity with financial statements and financial report analysis
- Comfort working with data and data sources
- Familiarity with sources and providers of research
- Excellent writing skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Unquestioned integrity and the highest ethical standards
Qualifications:
- Base of 6-8 years research and policy experience
- BA/BS degree sufficient; master's degree preferred
- References and prior work experience is critical
- Explicit research experience and publications not mandatory but beneficial
- Proven personal production track record in qualitative and quantitative writing and other output on complex topics.
