Associate - Equity Research - Chemicals

About the Role:

- Our client, a leading institutional sell-side equity broker, is seeking an Equity Research Associate to cover Indian Specialty Chemical stocks.

- As an Equity Research Associate, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research on Indian Specialty Chemical stocks, analyzing financial data and industry trends, building financial models, and making recommendations based on your research findings.

- You will also be required to write comprehensive research reports that cover the analysis of data, earnings results, industry news, recommendations, and valuation models.

- Our equity research analysts work closely with traders and sales teams to provide timely and actionable investment recommendations to our clients. This requires an unwavering commitment to accuracy, transparency, and the highest levels of professionalism.

Key responsibilities include:

- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of publicly traded Indian specialty chemical companies and their respective industries to produce research reports, investment recommendations, and financial models.

- Analyze financial statements and other public company data to identify opportunities and risks related to companies or industries.

- Develop and maintain financial models for covered companies.

- Conduct industry diligence and primary research through surveys, expert conference calls, and various channel checks to evaluate industry trends.

- Write research reports for initiations of coverage, analysis of data, earnings results, industry news, recommendations, and valuation models.

The ideal candidate should have:

Experience:

- 3-5 years of experience in equity research or related fields

Education:

- A CA or MBA degree, with a CFA certification as a plus

Skills:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in valuation and modeling techniques

- Ability to develop deep industry expertise and stay up-to-date with industry news and trends

- Proven track record of working collaboratively within a team environment while also being able to work independently

- Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
