Associate Director Sustainability/Climate risk

Key Role & Responsibilities :

- Be subject matter expert in Sustainability/Climate Risk stream during client engagements

- Conceptualize and develop a broad suite of climate risk offerings for corporates and financial institutions

- Act as a consultant and help banking clients meet their climate ambitions in terms of sectoral opportunities, net zero commitment, credit underwriting and disclosures, among others.

- Recommend ways to integrate climate risk into bank's governance, risk management and disclosure practices

- Lead/ execute new Sustainability/Climate risk stream related pilots/ projects from conception through delivery to client, including identifying strategic direction of the work and directing and supporting team members in project-related tasks

- Manage, lead, and mentor a team of ESG/credit specialists and grow future skills from within based on market demand.

- Work closely with business heads and business development team to identify opportunities and plan go-to- market strategies for offerings in this space

- Support franchise building efforts by planning and executing campaigns, webinars, panel discussions, and unique industry insights and views

- Stay abreast with global trends in sustainability/climate risk - emerging industry practices, regulatory requirements, on-ground trends and market direction

Job Skills & Qualifications Required :

- MBA/CA/CFA/PhD

- Team management of more than 100 people

- At least 10 years of experience including in credit risk space with good exposure to ESG assessment of banks' lending portfolio, climate risk assessment of banks' lending portfolio, monitoring KPIs / SPTs in banks' sustainable loans

- Good technical knowledge in the domain of Climate Change, Decarbonization, ESG.

- Experience of executing/leading large projects at least in two of the three areas

- Proven experience with franchise and market outreach activities

- Strong leadership experience and skills
