The Associate Director (AD) position is a part of senior leadership. Also, as a founding team member, the person would play a critical role In shaping and building the organization. The Associate Director will work closely with Founder and CEO to develop strategies, and drive the implementation of various initiatives.

JD-

- It is an excellent chance to be a part of a pioneering initiative to build the infrastructure and capability for India and China to understand each other, and eventually work more effectively together.

- Collaborate with the CEO to develop strategic plans for CIF to maximize impact

- Develop project plans, and resource and communication plans to ensure successful implementation of CIF's strategy

- Lead and drive the implementation of strategy and programs across verticals

- Identify potential partners in government, media, corporations, and nonprofits in both India and China to achieve strategic objectives

- Support the CEO in building partnerships with senior leaders and organizations based on priorities

- Adhere to a set of principles and code of conduct to ensure that the organization remains objective, neutral, and non-partisan

Eligibility (Education & Experience): 

- Proven track record of successful leadership in a complex organization building and implementing effective strategic plans

- Experience in consulting, public policy, or nonprofit strategy preferred

- Minimum of 12 years of overall professional experience

- Has demonstrates a deep understanding and appreciation of the issues between India and China, and a strong belief In developing relations between the two countries

- Prior experience to China and Chinese society (living, working, or studying in China) preferred

- Knowledge of Mandarin language preferred

- Master's degree in relevant field like International Relations, Public Policy etc preferred

- Excellent strategic thinking and planning skills, with ability to define and articulate strategy, priorities and develop achievable plans

- Strong leadership and clear vision, with ability to secure commitment to vision

- Excellent execution skills with track record of achieving impact

- Entrepreneurial and has the ability to influence others

- Strong team management skills, with ability to establish and communicate clear standards and expectations, delegate effectively and give constructive feedback

- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, and adaptable approach to building organizations

- Institution builder with the ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders

- Excellent coalition building, and stakeholder management skills with an ability to work effectively with a variety of international stakeholders

- Outstanding presentation skills and the experience and proclivity to be an outgoing spokesperson and relationship builder

- Must be capable of setting priorities and working under pressure
