Associate Director - Enterprise Network Services - Investment Management

About Enterprise Network Services :

The Enterprise Network Services (ENS) team are responsible for the operation, engineering and project delivery of network products and services to business and other technology teams. The ENS team operate globally, delivering support services using a follow-the-sun model, using teams located in UK & Europe, India and APAC. Additionally the Enterprise Voice Services team (EVS, part of the network team) provide the same service covering Voice and Video products.

Purpose of your role :

- Your focus will be on leading the India network team, further maturing and advancing global operations to incorporate engineering and delivery roles, and taking a significant lead within the global network leadership team.

- As your role will have a local and global focus, international travel will be a must - travelling to the UK, Dublin, Hong Kong, China, and probably Canada in order to engage, plan and deliver on formal global objectives.

Your ability to lead teams and to drive change will be key. Amongst your responsibilities will be :

- India team management - day to day, part of follow-the-sun leadership, local and global project / delivery, global engineering

- Growth of responsibility & capability within the India network team - this has already started, and your role will be to understand the opportunity and drive this forward - in particular owning key products within our global engineering (product owner) team, growing local delivery capability, and to advance follow-the-sun operations - all key initiatives in fairly early phases

- Client relationship management - development teams for the delivery of the UK business are based in India. You would be expected to forge strong relationships with the leads of these areas, taking ownership to help support delivery of their work with infrastructure dependencies, and also to work with these clients to improve delivery of services to them, delivering high levels of customer service

- Automation - as part of a global strategy, develop capability locally (and globally) to drive efficiency into processes, create capability to automate within your team and the global team, and to then deliver automation and efficiencies into our global technology operations

- Infrastructure team relationships and strategy - engage with other infrastructure team leaders, product and service owners to understand the broader strategy, to ensure alignment, and to help integrate ENS into those broader strategies

- You will have a broad technical understanding, with focus on network and voice technologies and a good understanding of IT-Security policy and practices. The role expects service management (incident, change & problem), supplier management, risk management, systems management (including monitoring) lifecycle management and reporting. You will be empowered to define support your way, and then responsible to deliver service to agreed SLAs, 24x7x365.

- Working with technical team managers to establish your global network, you will and develop an understanding of the infrastructure and services and cooperate to achieve excellent customer service. The ability to work well with incident managers, service delivery managers, project managers and senior stakeholders is fundamental; also important is the need to be able to work under pressure within a busy environment. Being capable of working effectively within a diverse, distributed, global team is essential.

Your key accountabilities :

- Member of the Global Enterprise Network Services Leadership team

- Member of the India Infrastructure Leadership Team

- Local team leadership as well as global responsibility within ENS - product and or service based

- Front of shop - responsible for India Network and Voice teams - operations, delivery and engineering responsibilities - able to clearly communicate and articulate across these key areas

- Team leadership - manage and mentor ENS staff

- Client engagement - understand the clients of ENS, their requirements and their feedback on service quality

- Specific accountability within key areas

- Global product ownership - contributing to the success of a global product owner programme with responsibility for key product areas (recently F5 leadership moved to India)

- Global service ownership - all regions contribute - you would be expected to take the lead for owning and delivering improvements and incorporating new products within this global framework, as well as being on-point during certain hours of the day

Automation - a key focus area for the team, you would be expected to identify opportunities, track, leverage enterprise tools, train individuals as necessary, and deliver efficiencies

The Enterprise Network Services (ENS) team are responsible for the operation, engineering and project delivery of network products and services to business and other technology teams

Your skills and experience:

- Leadership skills - Including ability to drive change - people, process, engagement and collaboration. You should have significant prior experience of running teams and operating as part of global technology teams

- Technically strong - should be technically strong, able to help drive global technology strategy, and have a good understanding how the products being managed by your team, and the global team operate and integrate

- Service oriented, business aware and client focused

- Good organisational and planning skills, with attention to detail

- Good documentation skills, including writing policies and procedures

- Delivery and results driven, with the ability to manage complex client relationships

- Ability to work with Audit (Internal & external) functions and certification organisations

- Motivated, with a positive (can-do) and enthusiastic attitude

- Confident, influential and able to communicate effectively at all levels

- Diligent, thorough and professional

- Experience of delivering network, firewall, voice and related technologies

- Ability to cope with demanding schedules and pressured deadlines

- Ability to effectively describe work details and relevant technical matters to colleagues and management

- Must be flexible in approach to work content and responsibilities

- Must be able to interact with clients (the business) and technicians effectively

- Must thrive in a rapidly changing and expanding environment.

Technical front -

- Broad technical understanding on network and voice technologies and a good understanding of IT-Security policy and practices.

- The role expects service management (incident, change & problem), supplier management, risk management, systems management (including monitoring) lifecycle management and reporting.

- Automation

- Understanding of the PCI Security Standard, also the ISO20000 and ISO27001 standards

- Project Management (Agile) qualifications and experience

- Understanding of the infrastructure and services and cooperate to achieve excellent customer service. The ability to work well with incident managers, service delivery managers, project managers and senior stakeholders is fundamental

Functional Front -

- India team management
