Associate Director - Data Science - Pharma

Role-Data Science_Associate Director(Prefered Pharma domain)

We are looking for a techno-functional leader to drive a team of talented data scientists, ML engineers and data engineers who can help expand the capabilities and drive global initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

Ownership of Project Delivery

- Serve as trusted advisor by actively participating in various phases of the projects (including kick-off, methodology development, execution, insight generation and data visualizations)

- Effectively communicate with stakeholders to present the final outcomes and provide recommendations as needed

- Build and exhibit deep expertise on statistical/AI/ML techniques combined with strong knowledge of the commercial pharma business and the problems that are being solved by data and analytics

Project Management and people leadership

- Set up processes to ensure continuous high-quality delivery by the team, including but not limited to implementing best project management practices (agile/ scrum as needed)

- Set-up and manage a team of highly talented professionals (data scientists, ML Ops); and implement upskilling plans as required for business needs

- Serve as a career advisor/coach, work with functional leadership and HR to identify career opportunities for team members, both systemically (career path development) and with individuals as needed

- Develop a pipeline of data science talent and leadership, and contribute to an inclusive community of analytics expert practitioners

Strategic growth and thought leadership

- Strategize on key opportunities/whitespaces, drive discussions and expand outcomes from LCCI for data science driven business solutions

- Integrate working model for analytics capabilities across BI&A teams, and where possible, across other LCCI teams to drive better cross-team resourcing, cross-pollination of best practices and expansion of LCCI capabilities

- Interface with the IDS and other groups within commercial ecosystem to pull through innovations and best practices that accelerate capability builds and technology adoption, while managing delivery expectations

- Network with industry experts and external consultants as needed to develop, test, and implement new approaches and solutions for analytics capabilities at LCCI

Experience Required

- 12-18 years of relevant work experience with demonstrated experience of setting up and leading high performing analytics/data-science teams

- Extensive experience working on the areas of machine learning and artificial intelligence, natural language processing and other approaches to structured/unstructured data, advanced mathematical and predictive modelling, visual analytics etc.

- Demonstrated strength/understanding in statistics (preferred)

- Significant coding experience in R and/or Python

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to be able to structure and solve open ended business problems (pharma experience is highly preferred)

Education

- Master's/Ph.D. degree in technology, statistics/mathematics, econometrics, operations research or computer science
