Associate Consultant/Consultant - Data Scientist - Insurance

Associate Consultant/Consultant - DATA SCIENTIST for a leading global company in insurance and asset management.

Location : Pune.

Shift Timing: 09:30 Hrs. to 18:30 Hrs.

Data Science is an integral part of the Actuarial and Data Science team. Supports clients from various departments with data analysis, predictive modeling, and different analytics projects. The team provides insights into the internal and external environment by analyzing transactional data by applying statistical techniques using tools like R, Python/ Pandas, Pyspark and presents the end results and findings in a visual appealing manner using various libraries.

THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE

- Own and manage the projects from initiation to closure.

- Understand the business of Pricing/ Underwriting and their need/objective and translate business problems into a statistical/analytical problem and provide solutions to achieve business goals.

- Data preparation, frame methodology, build models, model validation, result/ findings templates of the reports based end user and client requirements/ project objectives.

- Own and ensure the quality of output framework and strives to improve efficiency and quality.

- Able to manage the entire client communication related to projects independently/ with support from Manager.

- Resolve all client queries and offer an explanation of the findings of the project.

- Knows how to modulate the findings to suit the technical and non-technical audience.

- Contribute to data cleansing, model development-final analysis, and report preparation.

- Assess and develop new modeling frameworks.

- Work on developmental assignments under the guidance of Project Manager.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- 2 to 3.5 years of core Data Science experience performing data analysis, text mining, predictive modeling, machine learning etc for Associate Consultant role.

- 4.5 to 6 years of core Data Science experience performing data analysis, text mining, predictive modeling, machine learning etc. for Consultant role.

- Knowledge of insurance industry good to have. Open for banking, retail or some other domain candidates as well who possess strong data science skills.

QUALIFICATION REQUIRED

B.E./ B. Tech/ M. Tech in any Engineering discipline or Master's degree in Statistics/ Mathematics/ Economics/ Econometrics from a recognized university.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

- Desired modeling techniques - GLM (logistic, gamma model, poison model), survival, segmentation (clustering, CHAID, and CART), Decision Trees, Random Forest, Neural network and Na- ve Bayes, Customer lifetime value model, Linear Programming Techniques, Time Series Forecasting, Text mining and Analytics.

- Strong hands-on experience of using Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikitlearn Library in Python, Pyspark as well as strong programming experience on Python.

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED

- Good communication and strong interpersonal skills.

- Excellent presentation skills.

- Strong team player and influencing team/ stakeholders positively.

- Capable of handling pressure situations and tight work deadlines.
