Job Title: Associate CMV Operations

Department: Chief Operating Officer (COO); Global Markets Operations; Clearing, Collateral and Relationship Management (CRM); Collateral Management and Valuations (CMV)

Products: Global Markets Derivatives Cross Product (FX, Equities, Rates, Credit)

Overview:

Collateral Management is a First Line of Defence function responsible for minimizing Bank's counterparty credit risk on its collateralized derivatives portfolio. The global function aggregates the Bank's exposure across this trade population and administers the margin terms dictated in bilateral ISDA and CSA (Credit Support Annex) Agreements. Permissible collateral (cash or securities) is then exchanged with our clients or central clearing counterparties to complete the process. Specific functions in the collateral management value chain performed by the India team are New Business agreement set up and maintenance, Margin Management, Asset Management bookings of acceptable collateral, Margin Disputes, regulatory Portfolio Reconciliation and Data Control flowing into the margining systems. The European business and the Americas business (supported thru extended UK shift timings) are predominantly supported by the India team.

The Valuation Client Services team (VCS) within CMV is responsible for the quality and timely distribution of its cross product valuation client statements. It oversees the entire valuations statement compilation and distribution from the devaluations II platform, as well as the continuing CVS development and Book of Work. Product valuations distributed include all un-cleared derivatives, Foreign Exchange (FX), Equity, Loan and security products that have been traded by to clients. The India VCS team supports the APAC, European and Americas regions, with the Americas region supported thru extended UK shift timings.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage New Business agreement setup and maintenance (interpret and extract ISDA/CSA terms for application to collateral management).

- Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly team habits and expectations are aligned with priorities set.

- Consistent and transparent in approach. Engagement across all corporate titles to ensure the effective two-way flow of communication.

- Create a culture of superior service to internal and external stakeholders, in particular, client and front office facing functions. Imbibe in the team the importance of timely and accurate communication in a manner that is appropriate for that particular audience.

- Supervision of daily business processes, complete with adherence to standard tools and minimum requirements (eg. Daily team huddles, end of day dashboards, daily supervisory checklists).

- Performs critical controls that require a senior level of authority (eg. high-value payments, P&L adjustments).

- Understands the impact of market trends on process flows.

- Focuses on minimizing manual or inefficient processes and seeks approval from AVP before adding any new manual items.

- Quickly provides transparency regarding operational incidents, root causes, and proposed remediation.

- Regularly identifies weaknesses/insufficiencies in the processes and controls due to changes in operating environment. Coordinates with AVP for closure at a regional and if applicable global level.

- Be accessible, visible and impactful with global stakeholders as well as regional manager. Develop effective working relationship across the front to back processes in multiple locations to enhance operating effectiveness.

You will have:

- Strong organizational skills; ability to identify and priorities multiple tasks based on criticality, impact and franchise importance.

- Exceptional communication skills - verbal, written and presentation.

- Independent problem solver who demonstrates accountability as well as execution capability.

- Background in Collateral, Margin, Rates, Credit, FX, Securities, Treasury or Liquidity Management.

- Ability to independently coordinate and manage work requirements across multiple business areas and functions.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

- Ability to connect with people as well as desire to learn process flows.

- Dedication to servicing a demanding internal and external client base.

- Microsoft Excel skills to a good standard.

You will be:

- Degree educated in Finance, Commerce or related field, or have a minimum of 6 years of work experience in a Banking/Finance environment.

- Experience working in a global, cross matrix reporting organization.
