Analyze valuation signals from market, vendors, brokers, and/or counter parties Identify and assessing valuation risks with respect to materiality, complexity (e.g. models versus market prices) Prepare final reports for Pricing and Valuation Committee and Senior RiskCo, reporting overall IPV control on MoM basis IPV Population control (matching IPV population with Financial report) and reconciliation Support enhancements of existing IPV processes, tools, methodologies to ensure robust control environment About the team: Financial Risk Management (FRM) oversees all financial market and credit risks that arise throughout Group, from its core reinsurance businesses and the related investment and asset-liability matching activities. Within FRM, the Valuation Risk Management (VRM) is a global team whose core mission statement is to ensure that valuations reflected in financial statements are in line with accounting requirements and industry best practice.&nbsp; Valuation Risk Management: Valuations assigned to financial instruments play a key role in understanding our portfolio and enabling appropriate decisions to be made.&nbsp; - Valuations feed into our accounts, are at the core of P/L, determine the calibration of models, and form a key part of risk assessment. Inaccurate valuations distort the decision making process, and so it is clear that controls ensuring appropriate valuations are an essential part of the firm's operations. To ensure the firm is utilizing appropriate valuations, has developed an Independent Price Verification (IPV) process that formally assesses the quality of our valuations and acts to correct any issues. About You : Candidate should be B.Tech/Engineering/Mathematics degree with MBA-Finance/FRM/CFA with 2-5 years' experience in the valuation's space /product control/market risk/relevant functions. Experience of producing detailed analysis reports on monthly basis or on demand basis with tight deadlines and clearly communicating the result to senior management - The ideal person would have a thorough understand the valuation inputs and methods for the assets under coverage. Ability to be able to identify and analyze how the inputs or methodologies can be impacted from changes in the market or other events that can lead to uncertainties in valuing an asset. Effectively communicate the risks and views to stakeholder. - Perform the independent price verification (IPV) process to determine whether assets are valued correctly and determine whether valuation adjustments are required for external balance sheet reporting. - Hands on with coding in VBA, R, Python, Matlab is preferable. - Prepare stakeholder reports to simply and effectively communicate IPV results and valuation risk observations. Assist and oversee monthly control and reconciliation processes. - Provide support for enhancements of existing IPV processes, tools, methodologies to ensure robust control environment. - Detailed knowledge of financial instrument valuation and risks measurement in a complex product area, with regards to derivatives and fixed income securities and experience in valuation of the liquid investments like private placements and private equity is given preference. - Hands on experience with Bloomberg in key markets data sets &amp; using pricing functions.
