Job Description/Experience Requirements :

- Internal Audit (IA) is a global organization of over 1000 professionals covering global businesses and service to clients and customers in over 180 countries. IA division provides independent assessments of the company's governance, risk management and internal control environment for key stakeholders including the Board of Directors, senior management and numerous regulators. IA is a change agent within to enhance the control culture of worldwide and thereby support senior management decision making around the world. Global Compliance is a team within IA, focused on anti-money laundering and regulatory compliance, globally

- This position is for a C12, Auditor covering Compliance AML for the Asia Regional Compliance and KAMLS Center of Excellence (CoE) team. The role will contribute to the scoping and execution of risk based audits covering applicable local and U.S. regulations. Audit coverage will be executed in accordance with established IA methodology and professional auditing standards. The position will be based in India and will report directly into the C14 Audit SVP India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka Compliance and AML Controller, based in Mumbai, India. The role is integral component of the IA Global Compliance and KAMLS CoE team

- The candidate should have a functional knowledge of local regulatory requirements governing banking services policies and procedures, provisions and guidelines established by the local regulator and other related agencies. The candidate must have working knowledge of regulatory requirements and the related risks and controls and demonstrate the ability to work with senior management and participate and lead audit execution

Job Responsibilities:

- Participate and lead aspects of internal audit activities in assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls including the validation of corrective actions, in accordance with Internal Audit Methodology and budgetary guidelines, covering Institutional Client and Consumer Banking businesses, local operations and control functions

- Participate or lead audits to verify compliance with internal policies and standards, US and local regulations as related to prohibited activities, money laundering and financing of terrorism, and all applicable regulations governing local banking activities and operations

- Lead or participate in four or six audits per year respectively (1-2 audits per quarter depending on complexity)

- Assist in the preparation of periodic and ad hoc reports as required for governance reporting for legal entity reporting and in response to regulatory inquiries

- Monitor key processes and industry trends and assess the risks in the assigned business through on-going business monitoring, internal audit assessment, escalation of thematic control deficiencies and validation of corrective action against internal audit as well as regulatory raised controls issues

- Participate in stakeholder meetings as needed with local regulators for audit and examination coordination

- Work to advance integrated auditing concepts and use of technology (i.e., data retrievals, automated testing)

- Share and develop relevant knowledge within the Asia IA team and across the Compliance and KAMLS CoE to promote consistent independent assurance audit coverage and reporting

- Completes assigned audits within budgeted timeframes, and budgeted costs

- Partners and works collaboratively with team members in all phases of the audit process

- Recommends appropriate and pragmatic solutions to risk and control issues

Qualifications:

- Knowledge of regulations, standards, and internal policies applicable

- Knowledge of audit/risk assessment techniques and principles

- Strong analytical ability to understand diverse complex business issues associated with the areas covered, identify root causes and recommend solutions

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with business partners, auditors and examiners

- Strong written and oral communicator with strong judgment and political astuteness

- A strong team player exhibiting initiative and intuitive thinking and the ability to identify potential strategic risks and issues

- Strong sense of accountability and work ethic

- BA/BS or equivalent - 

- Minimum 5 years of experience in areas related to Compliance AML programs, regulations, standards, and internal policies applicable

- Experience in the Financial Service Industry is also desirable
