Achieving this through the consolidation, simplification and continuous improvement of processes across the full range of HSBC operations, the division simultaneously takes responsibility for managing operational, location and Chief Operating Officer - Global Finance Centre Role Overview: - This is a high profile global role supporting the Operations CFO in Operations Finance. - The jobholder will be responsible for providing the Global Operations with forward looking analytics and developing recommendations to help drive strategic direction. - Operating in an exciting and challenging environment, the role will focus on partnering with the Global Operations COO &amp; Business Services teams and have influence on reshaping and streamlining the support Finance provides to Global Operations. - This is an excellent opportunity to develop and grow this important role within Finance. Background: - As a key business partner, Operations Finance will play a critical role in defining and implementing the global strategy for the Operations organization (2018-2020 Transformation Program), with a particular focus on increasing the efficiency and effectiveness. - A key part of the remit for Operations Finance is partnering with key stakeholders, to provide them with analytics and developing recommendations to help drive the strategic direction of the organisation. Role Purpose: - We are looking for a talented individual who can support the Operations CFO to provide thought leadership, perform rigorous analytics, develop actionable recommendations and influence stakeholders in response to complex business and financial issues. - The individual will support the Operations CFO in representing Operations Finance in meetings with key stakeholders from the business and be expected to provide the following analytics: - Support answering / present options to answer - blue sky exam questions- on the future shape and footprint and how the business can improve its returns; - Evaluate and support recommendations on options as part of the overall transformation programme and with respect to overall Strategy&nbsp; - Produce forward looking analysis focusing on the projected flight path of the business including identifying possible management intervention levers. Key Accountabilities: - Support key initiatives to build new, improved management information or analytics to drive decisions - Support development of new insight and analytics supporting the business Customers / Stakeholders - Build relationships within Global Operations to keep abreast of key initiative and developments - Partner with COO Office to prepare financial analysis to drive strategic decisions and inform senior management - Support Operations CFO to be accountable to present key findings to Senior Management within Global Operations and the wider Finance community - Pro-actively identify opportunities for value-add to stakeholders and execute these Leadership &amp; Teamwork - Role model collaborative behaviours, actively share ideas / approaches with e.g. Finance network Operational Effectiveness &amp; Control - Support Operations CFO to deliver strategic goals of the Global Operations - Ensure all work is completed efficiently, prioritizing critical pieces of work whilst ensuring the delivery of all tasks as agreed - Ensure all work is completed in accordance with appropriate Group Standard and practices - Provide assurance that any process risks identified are highlighted and managed as appropriate - Support all regulatory and compliance matters and the management of operational risk Major Challenges - - Support Operations CFO in leading development of and drive new initiatives forward and ensure buy-in from key stakeholders - Build financial models around complex concepts with many different ways of interpreting data and constructing analysis - Understand and keep abreast of the overall structure of the firm, and appreciate the challenges of working within a matrix organization, with changing management structures - Liaise with a number of senior stakeholders in a sometimes pressurized environment - Show diplomacy and professionalism in dealing with the firm's many stakeholders Role Context - Environment: The role sits within the Operations Finance Team, which forms part of the wider HOST Business Finance team. The role holder will need to quickly understand the firm, its structure, businesses and markets to be able to add value to help drive the strategic direction of the firm. - Accountability: The role reports to the Operations CFO, HOST Finance. Role Dimensions - - Global role covering all aspects of strategic support &amp; analytics in relation to Global Operations. - Management of Risk - The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology. - This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring. - Also by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department Observation of Internal Controls - - Maintains internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. - Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
