Assistant Vice President - Commercial Credits - Loan Management Unit

The role holder will have the following broad responsibilities :

- Develop and implement appropriate strategies to rehabilitate or exit criticized/ classified or exit loan relationships.

- Work alongside on-shore team, sharing responsibilities. Take part in credit analysis, risk assessment, day to day management/ co-management and loss estimation within a time frame of 36 months or less. This may include participation in customer contact, risk rating determination and collateral coverage estimates.

- Shadow or co-manage criticized credits that have received approval to stay with the business segment line area.

- Actively communicate (verbal or written) with Line of Business, bank counsel, customer, customer counsel, lending group representatives, attorneys of the lending groups as well as with onshore LMU and Support (RSU) staff.

- Closely monitor risk events and escalate them to management on a timely basis.

- Prepare for and/or support audit, regulatory initiatives and internal WMR projects.

- Represent WMR CoE in Shared Services and New Business initiatives where required.

- Flexibility to travel, if required.

- Academics - Graduate degree in accounting/ business/ finance/ economics/ related field or equivalent. Qualifications in Finance/ CA/ ICWA/ CS/ CAIIB preferred.

- 10+ years of post-qualification experience in handling small business or commercial credits and dealing with customers and government agencies or equivalent (relevant loan workouts and/or commercial lending and/or commercial recovery experience).

- Excellent written and verbal English skills.

- Demonstrated negotiations, problem-solving, communications, decision - making and persuasion skills. Strong analytical skills with ability to quickly interpret data & facts to arrive at meaningful conclusions and assess the business/ financial prospects of the borrowers.

- Knowledge of application of law as it applies to banking, business loans, bankruptcy, contracts, securities, Uniform Commercial and Real Estate Codes.

- Customer centric mind-set.

- Resilience to work under pressure to meet aggressive deadlines

- Routine work involves regular dialogue with CO staff and US clients. Hence, Role Holders must be willing to work late evening hours with an indicative log off at 11.00 pm. However, Role Holder candidates must be prepared to stay longer to meet business requirements.
