Assistant Vice President - Collateral Management - Global Market/Investment Banking

Job Description-

Collateral function typically has a high degree of monetary exposure due to transaction size and critical daily production windows which can impact client relationships. This Function has a regulatory requirements and is under significant change

In order to oversee the smooth functioning of this process following are the responsibilities which incumbent is required to execute: 

- Manage a large segment or unit(s) of a product line and/or function of the company's operations activities. The role involves the incumbent to directly manage 4-6 managers / senior managers and has an indirect reporting of 50-60 associates based out of Hyderabad

- Will drive strategic direction for the teams and create close integration with the global footprint

- Significant exposure and Interface with Global Business, Key clients and technology Partners

- Partner to key strategic projects and bring the right influence on the tech build out and will be the key to build strong / influential relationship and further become the key contact for India team

- Incumbent to translate data into key business metrics and decision making

- Oversees daily activities and ensures adherence to procedures and regulatory requirements (e.g. Uncleared Margin Rules, Exchanges)

- Develops and implements new processes/procedures to improve operating efficiency and reduce risk

- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of workflow

- Anticipate changes in the business environment and partner with the onshore partners to provide learning solution due to industry /market changes, regulatory changes etc.

Responsibilities-

- Reviews and recommends new methods and procedures to make daily operations in the areas more efficient

- Manages performance for the entire team, including Associate development, compensation decisioning, and talent planning

- Requires general knowledge of managing an operations area and may be used as a primary contributor in a variety of projects

- Leads and directs the work of others and ensures staffing levels and capacity are appropriate to meet production requirements

- Manages client, business and leads the strategic thinking with the global teams

- Six Sigma/Lean experience preferred

Requirements-

- Incumbent Should have 16+ years of operational management/Global Market experience with at least 7+ years in the field of Collateral Management

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Knowledge of Global Markets / Investment Banking business is a must

- Good Relationship Management experience

- Strong People management experience

Process Timings - 12:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Mandatory skills-

- Competent with MS Core Products: Word, Excel & PowerPoint

- Competent OR have working knowledge of industry applications: Margin Sphere, Arcadia Soft, Tri Optima, etc

Desired skills-

- Familiarity with markets products ideally in more than one asset class

- Product Knowledge: Collateral Management, Client Valuations

- Knowledge of structured business analysis (e.g. 6 Sigma)

- A good understanding of financial markets documentation (ISDA, GMRA IFEMA, PSA)

- Systems skills in MS Project and Visio
