Main Role (Overall Accountability)
- Responsible for assisting Head - Operational Risk in managing operational risk in the Bank. This includes assisting in policy formulation, design, development, implementation and management of an enterprise-wide operational risk management system
- Migrating the bank to Advanced Measurement Approach methodologies of operational risk capital allocation
- Coordinate and assist CRSA exercise and KRI process. Responsible for Operational risk MIS.
- The role also includes managing insurance process for Bank's assets.
Principal Accountabilities
- Assist in formulation of the overall Operational Risk Management strategy at the Bank; Assist to formulate, adopt and implement a robust operational risk management policy across the bank aimed at minimizing and managing operational risk losses at the bank; Design, development, implementation and management of an Enterprise wide Operational Risk Management system.
- Help Head - Operational risk in overseeing Controls & Risk Self-Assessment (CRSA) process which includes preparing Action Plans for the branches/departments based on the CRSA results.
- Coordinate with officers responsible for Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and Key Control Indicators (KCI) process and ensure monthly reports are submitted to management on time;
- Assist Head - Ops risk in reviewing the Operational Risk Policy on a periodic basis to ensure the same is up-to-date with regard to the changing operation environment.
- Ensuring compliance with the Operational Risk Policy by the respective Business Units.
- Play a key role by assisting Head - Operational risk to take the Bank to Advanced Measurement Approach (AMA) for capital calculation for Ops risk; Active participation is the Basel II implementation.
- Support Risk Management Department's new initiatives and handle various tasks assigned from time to time.
- Development & training of operational risk staff to ensure they develop necessary skill sets needed for effective management of operational risks.
- Managing the insurance process for the Bank. This includes periodic review of the insurance process, ensuring appropriate & sufficient insurance coverage for the Bank and liaising between the departments and insurance brokers for completing Insurance Proposal Forms etc.
Personnel Specifications:
- CA/CPA along with Graduation with 3 years of experience in managing operational risk in a Bank
- Strong IT orientation to evaluate, adopt and implement latest Risk Management Technologies
- Professional training in Risk Management, Financial Management.
