Assistant Manager - Model Development

This Team is responsible for the risk management and credit analytics. Model Development team is involved in creating credit model for BASEL, credit lifecycle, Impairment and Risk & Reward model. Your primary role will include development of credit risk models for various banking portfolios which will forecast revenue, cost and loss lines over the life of the loan based on historical data and hence provide portfolio managers with a tool to analyse segment profitability and also enable price optimization at offer point, Model documentation as per regulatory/ governance requirements, scorecards implementation, validation and performance monitoring, team management and mentoring.

Overall job purpose of this role is the development of credit risk models for various Banking portfolios. Model documentation as per regulatory / governance requirements. Scorecards implementation, validation and performance monitoring. Team management and mentoring

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

- Development of credit models across life cycle of various retail portfolios

- Model implementation & impact assessment

- Ensure timely model performance tracking, and automate the monitoring process to drastically improve process/operation to enable the business make rapid credit decisions against market condition changes.

- Ensure the compliance of development and validation of models with respect to internal and external regulatory guidelines.

- Model documentation as per internal and regulatory guidelines

- Regular performance tracking and validation of existing scorecards as per regulatory and internal policy requirements

- Work closely with internal model committees to ensure models meet desired compliance requirements

- Introduce cutting edge techniques of modelling /segmentation through proactive thinking

- Engage with on-shore partners and business heads to scope out analytics projects in line with business expectation

- Risk and Control Objective - Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements for IJP for the position of Assistant Manager - Model Development :

- Experience in developing credit risk scorecards for retail portfolios

- Knowledge of retail financial services products

- Aptitude for using statistical programming languages

- Strong analytical background, data driven, results orientated

- Awareness of the financial services industry

- Awareness of the economy, and market and customer trends affecting the business

- Strong understanding of lending products from marketing and policy perspective

Preferred :

- Hands-on experience of SAS, or other suitable statistical programming language

- Hands-on experience in all stages of model development (development, validation, tracking, monitoring, implementation) of credit risk models for different portfolios

- Experience in Basel II compliant model development

- Strong and effective written and oral communication skills

- Knowledge of Credit Industry Product lines

- Knowledge of portfolio and customer dynamics

- Masters in the Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, operational research field, MBA, CA, Engineer

- Experience in a Modeller Role - in the Financial Services industry
