Assistant Manager - Indirect Tax - BFSI

Urgent Requirement for the position of Assistant Manager- Indirect Tax for a renowned financial consulting firm based in Mumbai. Any candidate with 3 to 7 years of experience in Indirect Tax Advisory or Compliance are eligible. Education Qualification: CA/ LLB/ Bcom.

Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

- Handling routine advisory work under Service Tax, Excise and VAT which includes:

- Preparation of opinion / note on complex indirect tax issues

- Very good research skills

- Good communication skills and client management skills

- Experience in handling department matters like registration, assessments, Refunds, etc

- Computation and Making payment of taxes on timely basis

- Review of workings prepared by clients and junior team members

- Filing returns

- Refunds, etc

- VAT Audits

- Managing clients on independent basis.

- Regular updating technical knowledge.

- Basic knowledge of GST

- Handing VAT, CST, Service Tax / Excise compliances and routine compliance work under Service Tax, Excise and VAT which includes:

Utilize knowledge of VAT laws of various states across India

Work on Pan India VAT compliance

Coordinate with local consultants across regions

Computation and payment of taxes on timely basis

Review of workings prepared by client

Apply for registrations, amendments etc

Filing VAT and Service Tax returns, refunds, etc

Conduct VAT Audits

- Manage clients independently

- Regularly updating technical knowledge
