Our Accounting team has a critical role in the supporting the global accounting and treasury functions including the preparation of financials statements, transaction processing, reconciliations, preparation of direct and indirect tax returns, etc. In this position, you will have the opportunity to be part of the accounting team that supports both Connor, Clark & Ln Financial Group Ltd. ("CCLFG") and its affiliates. The role of accounting team continues to evolve in complexity and importance, and this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing team whose scope and visibility continues to increase. Work timings: 1:30 PM - 10:30 PM.

The Accounting team operates in a unique position working closely with our affiliates and other teams within CCLFG tasked with business and investment operations. An Accountant in corporate accounting has a combination of proven functional, industry, and technical experience that enables them to drive operational- excellence and project- execution. They excel in critical- thinking, analytical skills, and demonstrate sound judgement and as such, are responsible for complex problem solving in both high- impact operational and high- profile project work. They play a key role in daily operations within their team and group as a whole.

What You Will Do:

- Supervising full cycle accounting function for the Indian entity and preparation of monthly/quarterly forecasts and variance/flux analysis of budget vs actual expenditure for the India entity and various affiliates of the group.

- Assisting with the legal and regulatory compliance requirements for the Indian entity.

- Treasury management including managing cash resources, wire payments, determining capital call requirements, and maintaining relationships with banks and lenders.

- Preparation of income tax returns and GST returns for the Canadian affiliates and the Indian entity.

- Reconciliation of inter- company transactions, bank ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc.

- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including the notes to accounts and required working papers.

- Providing supports to transition projects, knowledge transfer and monitoring critical deliverables.

- Collaborating with various business groups within the company. You will be answering their accounting related questions and resolving queries.

- Providing support in our efforts to undertake a planned migration to a new ERP system.

- Actively initiating and participating in improvements to maintain highly effective and efficient operating processes and ensuring proper implementation of various business strategies.

- Acting as subject matter expert for the related accounting area.

- Supervising and managing a team of 2- 4 members ensuring the completion of day- today tasks, helping the teams to understand how their work contributes to the organisation's end goal.

What You Will Bring:

- 5 years' experience in accounting and finance function within a financial services industry, and an excellent knowledge of MS office, in particular Excel. A prior experience in transition projects is preferred.

- Education - Qualified Chartered Accountant

- Team building Skills - You have the ability to work with a diverse team and drive change across functional. business boundaries. Along being a team player, you have the capability to work independently when necessary and being able to work under pressure.

- Team management skills - You possess team management experience of at least 1- 2 years.

- Time management - You have strong time management skills and ability to work in flexible shifts and hybrid model (3 days' work from office).

- Organization - You are organized and can manage multiple tasks and interruptions.
