The candidate should:
- Have completed at least 3-4 actuarial papers (for Assistant manager) or 7-8 actuarial papers (for Deputy Manager) and making rapid exam progress;
- Possess strong understanding of general actuarial principles (understanding of financials preferred);
- Be proactive at work, with non-satiating tendency to learn and excel;
- Be comfortable in coding/building models and their documentation;
- Possess good verbal and written communication & interpersonal skills (preferable).
- Developing models to carry out the necessary calculations to provide inputs needed by the business to understand the current and projected financial position of the Company, the exposure of the Company to various risks and carry out a host of internal (to SMT), regional office, shareholders and regulatory reporting.
- Assist in analyzing actuarial problems in terms of modelling a range of product and business features and carry out reasonableness checks to ensure that the output of the calculations is appropriate.
- Assist in preparing actuarial returns for the regulator as well as the regional office completed in a timely manner.
