PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for the sales and TM&D operations for FMCG business in a Branch. Lead and motivate the team through category expertise and ensure achievement of Branch and sales objectives in coordination with Regional Sales Manager (RSM), Category

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

TM& D Deliverables

- To develop the Category Branch plan in consultation with the RSM and to execute the same with efficiency and within agreed budgets and recommend on an ongoing basis measures for improvement

- To assist the Asst. Manager - Cigarettes (Convenience Channel) in the latter's planning for Non-Tobacco (NTD) products in markets covered exclusively through the Convenience infrastructure.

Business Strategy Development and Sales planning

- Develop Branch Business plan along with the RSM and to continually recalibrate the same with the guidance of the RSM to meet the market requirements/expectations.

- Cascade and aligns business plans to sales team across Circles and ensures achievement of the same.

- Ensure effective systems on ground to gather market intelligence on competitive product, pricing and packaging.

- To drive the category product mix and the continually improve the value added portfolio share across the branch.

- To agree benchmark Productivity measures with the RSM and drive them in the Branch.

- To continually evaluate and provide feedback on brand input requirements from competitive and growth objectives and devise appropriate brand input plans for recommendation to the RSM.

- Input to the Branch Cycle plan implementation and monitor/evaluate the same for the Category products.

Achievement of Sales Objective

- Ensure achievement of value/volume and share objectives set for the Branch for Category products.

- Set up systems for accurate Sales forecasting and to optimize inventories of finished goods.

- To assist the Assistant Convenience in the achievement of the same for the Convenience channel for NTD products.

SBU Interface

- Plan and demand appropriate marketing mix esp. promotions and merchandising to achieve business objectives in the Branch.

Category expertise

- To continually refine and input into Category understanding, of the Branch team, including the Conv team for NTD products sold by them, with the assistance of the RSM and using market intelligence. To use the same to recommend and implement plans for driving business objectives.

Customer Relationship & Customer Development

- Ensuring adequate customer training related to category channel and products along with the Branch Manager.

- Continually track Distributors- effectiveness especially with regards to remittance expectation and achievement of S&D deliverables and recommend corrective action to the Branch manager.

- Ensuring effective evaluation of WD on a periodic basis.

Strategic Cost Management

- To manage and optimize costs for Brand inputs, Infrastructure and delivery in consultation with other Assistant Managers in the branch. To facilitate the Convenience counterpart in the latter's endeavour to drive NTD sales through surplus Convenience infra capacity and to aid planning towards the same.

- Ensure effective utilization of brand spends to drive business cost efficiencies

- Responsible for category wise wastage costs and putting in place systems to minimize the same.

- Monitor supply chain performance by setting up systems, to ensure on time in full shipment of all SKUs of Category at relevant levels of the supply chain with the assistance of the RSM. Ensuring FMFO and continually evaluating WSP performance towards the same. To continually optimize on freight costs across the supply chain and recommend appropriate actions to the Branch Manager.

People Management

- Develop and Train team members to enhance competencies

- Advise the BM in the implementation of developmental plans of the team.

Environment Management

- Ensuring redressal of consumer complaints

Code of conduct & statutory compliance

- Adherence to the code of conduct by the category team

- Provide adequate inputs to the Branch Manager towards the conformation to all financial and administrative systems and provide understanding to the team with regards to the same.

- Ensures team compliance with all statutory and regulatory norms and provide understanding to the team with regards to the same.

Systems / processes / work practices

- Drive implementation of IT & Customer Information Systems

- Ensuring implementation of TM&D systems across the Branch for Category Team.

- Identification & adaptation of Best practices
