Assistant Manager - UK Accounting
Education/Qualification: CA is mandatory
Accountabilities/Responsibilities: - Ensure complete and accurate posting of transactions to the general ledger and the related accounting systems.
- Month-end journals for miscodes, capitalization, depreciation, accruals and recharges
- Support the production of monthly management MI & financial accounts
- Support the production of relevant management repo
- Analysis & report on variances to plan, forecast & prior year with relevant explanations and challenge relevant teams/cost centers
- Evaluate existing processes and improve where relevant
- Managing the workflow for the approval of invoices before being sent for payment
- Provide clarifications/information to auditors on Financial Information
- Produce information for tax and statutory reporting
- Keep up to date with reporting standards development, covering IFRS
- Plan and schedule work to meet deliverable timelines
- Co-ordinate and monitor process improvement initiatives
- To demonstrate a positive risk, compliance and control culture through the identification, assessment, monitoring, and management of risks and issues within the business area, alongside ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, actions, and failures that arise
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: (KEY) - Technical accounting knowledge - IFRS.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel (advanced), PowerPoint and PeopleSoft.
- Strong communication skills, both oral & written in English
- Time Management and Workload Planning Skills
- Good interpersonal skills
