Job Description:

- This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.

- As a member of the LCN Delivery Team, you will be accountable for providing quality legal support on a global basis for various stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

- Lead negotiations and draft engagement letters with law firms and legal vendors relating to value- based fee arrangements and other Alternative Fee Arrangements ("AFAs").

- Partner with in-house counsel to define legal matter fee assumptions and scope of work, working to drive consistency and predictability across matters.

- Prepare presentations and reports related to external legal spend and GELRT efforts to reduce same for senior legal and finance management.

- Act as a primary point of contact for legal practice group heads and in-house counsel to facilitate the engagement of outside counsel.

- Drive compliance with GELRT policies, including increasing savings, the portion of external legal spend under AFAs, and strengthening relationship with PLP firms.

- Provide ongoing management of external legal spend and proactively monitor spend in an effort to identify AFA opportunities.

- In conjunction with in-house counsel, track and review progress of tasks and assumptions over the course of a matter (periodically and at conclusion of matter) to assess appropriateness of fees/fee agreement.

- Help administer and develop premier legal partner (PLP) program, including meeting with outside counsel relationship partners to discuss their performance, participation in cost savings initiatives, and diversity initiatives.

- Ensure adherence to engagement and billing terms.

- Calculate, report, and present external legal spend savings achieved from various cost savings initiatives.

- Act as a point of contact for in-house counsel and outside counsel and third-party legal service providers for significant questions or issues (e.g. rate disputes, rate increase requests, etc.) in order to:

1) achieve consistency of approach,

2) ensure savings and promote "partnership" with outside services providers, and 3) ensure that in- house counsel can focus on the substance of the matters they manage.

- Enhance inclusion and diversity initiatives as it relates to engagement of outside counsel, including opportunities to increase spend with under-represented minority law firms or lawyers.

- Being aware of departmental guidance on best practices, processes, templates, clauses and playbooks.

- Communicates directly with business clients and participate in general business meetings, teams and projects as required to provide timely, effective legal advice.

- Other duties as assigned.

If you have these skills, we would like to speak to you.

- Qualified lawyer with minimum 10 to 12 years' experience in a law firm and/or in-house, including experience in negotiating and onboarding multiple law firms across jurisdictions.

- Adept with using various tools for onboarding and tracking external law firms.

- Knowledge of the rules of professional conduct governing client-lawyer relationship including conflicts, counsel engagement, and fee structures. Basic knowledge of law firm management structure.

- Experience with Excel and PowerPoint.

- Experience in finance/business reporting preferred.

- Willingness to work flexible hours as this position supports global business in different geographies.
