Role Description : To manage all the activities related to Batch house , Furnace, Metal Bath & Lehr and ensure continuous flow in float process without any stoppage
Responsibilities Heads : Safety
KRA (Key Result Areas) :
- To monitor & implement SOP's for safety so as to build safe working environment by ensuring adherence to safety norms.
Of Assets : To achieve & maintain the health of assets by continuous implementation & review of
maintenance plan.
- Conduct periodic & regular Furnace internal audit & plan for corrective action.
KPI (Key Performance Indicators):
- Safety performance index(MIS- report)
- Continuous Training on Safety Norms.
- Safety audit score
- Audit report carried out by external /recommended agency.
- Product quality ,% of product rejected.
Responsibilities Heads : Budgeting :
KRA (Key Result Areas) : Preparation review & monitoring of annual , monthly production budget for production quantity, yields, utility consumption, production spares & consumables, overheads and Capital Expenditure
KPI (Key Performance Indicators): Timeliness of budgets submission Variance reporting budget vs actual
Responsibilities Heads : Production :
KRA (Key Result Areas) :
- To manage & develop Raw mats., Batch house, furnace, Metal Bath, & lehr operating parameters to produce glass quality as per specifications.
- To regulate & control prod. Levels In order to achieve max.capacity utilisation & budgetted prod. Vol
- To develop, upgrade and modify production equipments, processes and systems as per business requirement.
- To coordinate with PPD in order to prepare prod. Plan for prod. Dept. perusal.
KPI (Key Performance Indicators):
- Primary Defects Rejection %age in each production run the prod. Output.
- Budget pull & thickness wise.
- No. of improvement projects initiated Savings plan vs. actual
- PPD Plan vs. actual
Responsibilities Heads : Quality Management:
KRA (Key Result Areas) :
- Implementation, review & monitoring of TQM,ISO 9001:2000,ISO-!4000, QMS & EMS as per company guidelines.
- To implement quality management system for achieving target production yields - online.
KPI (Key Performance Indicators):
- TQM Audit score / TQM Review meetings.
- No. of NCR's in internal / external audits.
- No. of kaizen done in depts.
- QC circle presentation

- PPD Plan vs actual
Quality Claims from Customer :
- Primary defect rejection %

Responsibilities Heads : Cost reduction
KRA (Key Result Areas) :
- To review & reduce the utility consumption in the process.
- To review & develop Raw material Specification to achieve the budget cost.
KPI (Key Performance Indicators):
- Consumption of Natural Gas,O2, N2, H2, SO2, Metal-bath.- heaters
- Batch cost & yield%

KRA (Key Result Areas):
- To plan and develop the skill set in department members as per roles and responsibility
- To provide quality training in order to increase product output.
- Implementation of Performance Management & Deployment Management system
- To build up and maintain high morale and motivation in department members
KPI (Key Performance Indicators):
- Competency mapping score
- Training hours plan vs actual
- Number of QC circles
- Number of PDCA's
- PMD Reviews plan vs. actuals.
- Annual review plan vs actual.
- Attrition rate in the department
REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge Fair knowledge of Glass Manufacturing industries, especially float glass plant.
Experience: '(Number of years) 10~ 12 yrs.
Skills Managerial, Communication, 'Leadership and motivation.
Qualification : B.Tech ( Ceramics)/Chemical/Mechanical
