Job Description:

Credit Assessment:

- Appraise and underwrite loans within defined policy guidelines, making decisions or recommending to appropriate authority accordingly.

- Assess the income, ability, intention, and credit behavior of applicants, verifying documents, conducting reference checks, bureau checks, and customer due diligence.

- Understand the nature of the applicant(s)' business, assess associated risks, and ascertain revenue streams.

- Evaluate all credit risk parameters and implement measures to mitigate risks.

- Prepare credit approval memos and manage overall Turnaround Time (TAT) and approval rates.

Credit Monitoring:

- Ensure strict adherence to laid-down policies and processes.

- Maintain portfolio quality through periodic structured reviews.

- Monitor exception approvals and analyze rejection trends regularly.

- Manage stakeholder relationships with Business, Risk, Accounts, and Collections teams.

- Ensure credit quality and keep credit costs under control.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

- MBA or equivalent qualification preferred.

- Proven experience in credit assessment and monitoring, preferably in a financial institution.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess income, credit behavior, and business risks.

- Knowledge of credit risk parameters and measures to mitigate risks.

- Excellent documentation and report-writing skills.

- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively across teams.

- Attention to detail and ability to adhere to policies and processes.

- Proficiency in financial analysis and credit evaluation techniques.

- Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of credit assessment and monitoring processes.

The candidate should be able to make informed decisions within defined policy guidelines and ensure portfolio quality while maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements.
