We are a technology firm started with a vision to utilise latest technologies to bring about transparency and efficiencies in the entire Aqua sector value chain.

We are passionate about adding value to Aqua farmers, exporters and the other stakeholders. We achieve this primarily by capturing accurate data at every point in the value chain using a combination of active farmer facing associates, an easy-to-use mobile application and a proprietary technology developed using Machine Learning techniques. The data thus captured is utilised to provide valuable and timely insights to the farmers, exporters and all other stakeholders.

Position Summary:

The Vice President of Engineering is a critical leadership role responsible for building and scaling Aqua Exchange's technology infrastructure and development teams. This hands-on leader who will be collaborating with the stakeholders, will spearhead our product development strategy, architectural design, and engineering best practices. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, proven experience in product-based companies, and a passion for driving innovation in a fast-paced startup environment.


Leadership and Team Development:

- Recruit, develop, and mentor a talented engineering team.

- Foster a collaborative, productive, and innovative engineering culture.

- Establish clear performance metrics and drive accountability across teams.

Technical Strategy and Architecture:

- Define and evolve the overall technical vision and roadmap for Aqua Exchange's products.

- Lead the software architecture design, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

- Guide technology choices and oversee the implementation of core systems.

Product Development:

- Work closely with product management to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Oversee the full software development lifecycle from ideation to deployment and maintenance.

- Champion agile development methodologies and continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) practices.

Process and Tools:

- Establish and enforce best practices for coding standards, testing, and documentation.

- Champion the effective use of tools like Jira for project management and collaboration.



- Minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership position (Senior Manager or Director of Engineering equivalent).

- Proven track record in a product-based company, ideally within a startup context.

- Experience as a software architect or strong hands-on experience in software architecture design.

Technical Skills:

- Deep understanding of software development principles and methodologies.

- Expertise in Python, Node.js, and familiarity with Odoo and Flutter frameworks.

- Experience with cloud-based technologies and DevOps practices (a plus).

- Proficiency in Jira for project and issue tracking.

Leadership and Management:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to motivate, inspire, and align diverse engineering teams.

- A collaborative and results-oriented mindset.

- Adaptability and a passion for solving problems in a dynamic startup environment.
