This segment provides software solutions that serve as the brain of the vehicle, including providing the critical software development and systems integration necessary to enable passenger safety, security, connectivity, and comfort. This segment's products include infotainment and user experience systems, controllers, and active safety software and perception systems. About this position: The purpose of this position is to develop and implement core non-core sourcing strategies for the mechanical category based on understanding of demand requirements, total cost economics and supply base / market characteristics with primary accountability for delivering results (e.g .meeting savings targets and performance performance improvements established in the business plan). This position is an integral part of the Global AS&amp;UX Direct Sourcing team, working closely with Global/Business Category Managers, Category Specialist, Business Leaders, SC analysts and business operations team to deliver value and achieve organizational goals Responsibilities and duties: Establish and implement detailed category and supplier strategies. - Define and maintain formal - category business plan,- including supplier strategy plan - Work closely with appropriate corporate/product line category managers to integrate business procurement with global category strategies. - Negotiate price, and other delivery-related terms with key suppliers to drive value to the business - Use applicable negotiation strategies to achieve savings, including the use of a reverse auction tool set. - Develop fit-for-purpose strategies that match business objectives - Manage performance execution of contracts throughout life of project - Record any savings achieved during negotiation in accordance with standard Aptiv policy. Support development of business level project decks and initiatives. - Proactively engage with Product line supply chain managers in their front-end planning to understand business goal and proactively support development of project decks/plans/strategies - Providing proposal support tied to the business area needs; this includes initiating Requests for Proposals (RFP) where required - Reviewing/analyzing responses and providing guidance to the program during the supplier selection process - Identify suppliers to meet business requirements, ensure they are qualified in accordance with standard Aptiv policies - Provide input to specifications - and work with suppliers in managing functional/technical specs where appropriate - Drive the use of preferred suppliers and incorporate/ increase the use of negotiated catalogues. - Review and evaluate bids for compliance with Aptiv requirements Performance monitoring - Communicate regularly with stakeholders on team performance, supplier performance, and take action when necessary to remedy unsatisfactory performance in accordance with feedback/ terms and conditions Supply Chain initiatives - Facilitate and Coordinate supplier relationship - leveraging internal category and supplier expertise to create a healthy interaction - Support the NPI process through involvement of PSL suppliers in accordance with standard Aptiv policies. - Support implementation of Common Process/Systems, and other supply chain initiatives as required. - Assist as necessary with deploying of key initiatives like PFEP/Cycle time. Qualifications - Bachelor degree - engineering degree preferred - 8-12 Years business Experience preferred, including 5-8 years in a relevant sourcing related capacity (i.e. strategic sourcing) - Proven track record in managing the Mechanical category &amp; Outsourcing management process - Experience with SAP, Oracle or similar procurement systems preferred. - Strong communication skills - verbal and written, ability to communicate effectively to varied audiences (cross cultural) - Strong leadership skills - Proven track record that includes working collaboratively with supply teams and Engineering/Technical individuals regarding management of statement of work requirements and supplier deliverables, - Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook - Self-motivated, able to perform role with minimal supervision, taking ownership and demonstrate sense of urgency - Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment - Ability to work in a team environment to consistently achieve results - Strong organizational skills - Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and Aptiv suppliers to meet or exceed business objectives. - Understanding of and experience with supplier negotiations, understanding of commercial terms and conditions related to procurement of goods and services, experience and good understanding of supply contracts - Experience in multicultural environment - Six Sigma green belt, CIPS, CPM, ISM, Lean - Languages: English - must; skills in other languages are a plus Traits we seek - Curiously investigate everything - ability to solving problems analytically, creatively and collaboratively - Lead with confidence - thought leaders who empower those around them - Learn by doing - an entrepreneurial mindset that's driven by hands-on experimentation - Embrace resilience - seeing every challenge as a learning opportunity and invitation to grow
