- To realise Appu Ghar’s highly ambitious and aggressive expansion plan, the company is currently looking for a proactive, commercially focused and profit driven DGM of Marketing. You will have the exciting opportunity as part of the Appu Ghar’s leadership team to spearhead the marketing division at one of the most successful Entertainment Companies in India. This role demands a leader who is able to formulate the overall vision, develop a concrete business plan and successfully execute the defined strategy to achieve both short term and long term targets as they relate to brand positioning and sales growth.

1. Candidate less than 15 + yrs experience need not apply.

2. Candidate must be working as GM / HEAD – Mkt. in their current role.

3. He should be an MBA from a reputed institute.

Job Accountability and Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy

- Oversee strategic implementation and measurement/optimization of communication plans; create projects that are critical to each brand’s marketing and learning plans and be the point-person on strategic and broader implementation questions (leverage management strength of team to implement media plan specifics)

- Generate revenue through various means including but not limited to sponsorship, commercial and residential sales. Must be able to garner support and solicit feedback from various sales teams on how marketing campaign will drive bottom line

- Develops financial objectives and targets for the team that focus on category and brand growth and profitability.

- Leads resolution of any financial plan disconnects with brands or divisions and identifies sales and gross margin opportunities at the department, division and location level.

Communications – Internal and External

- Work with internal team to determine key communications vehicles needed to support business objectives

- Provide direction on all internal communications requirements, including memos, presentations, webcasts, town halls

- Provide guidance on content development with guidance from Chief Compliance Officer

- Work with team to develop metrics to evaluate effectiveness of internal comms messages and vehicles

- Accountable for all communication and media deliverables; maintain status report as demonstration of this and for client and internal management effectiveness

Brand Management

- Responsible for total management of a given brand’s business (both traditional and digital) throughout the entire strategic, planning, and implementation process

- Identifies and develops emerging brands for the core customers

- Develops three-year brand strategy and financial plans. Works with brands and the DFS team to execute strategy at the department, division and store level.

- Promotes a “win-win” approach with all key brand partners.

- Maximizes key brands value proposition for our DFS customers by working closely with brands and communicating strategic customer needs.

- Develops assortment strategy for products that are exclusive to DFS or have limited distribution.

Public Relations and Media Planning

- Work with PR to ensure the proper amount and type of coverage to raise awareness, win reviews and ensure consistent corporate and product branding and image.

- Lead the execution of ongoing corporate reputation and issue management programs

- Establish processes to generate steady coverage of the company in the press and promote the company brand within appropriate channels

- Develop, solicit and place contributed articles, bylines, editorials, interviews, and other key mentions in all channels of communication

- Arrange, facilitate and manage media briefings with key company spokespeople, drive press releases, standby statements, Q&As, key message documents with appropriate external team members as needed

- Develop relationships with key journalists, tech and trade press using a deep rolodex of media relationships

Digital Marketing

- Demands constant awareness of the ever-changing landscape of social media and methods of conveying information and messages.

- Expectation for the DGM to be a thought leader in the use of new technologies, messaging and engagement of our various constituencies.

- Fully understand the conversion funnel and user path that leads to user action on the web site including SEO and SEM initiatives as relative to the organization and driving marketing share.

- Working in close conjunction with our information technology team and the sales and marketing team you will be responsible for building a high-ranking and high converting web site to drive growth

Event Management and Product Launch

Able to work effectively with event management companies in delivering

- Brief partner agencies on strategic implementation needs of product launches; use specific examples that relate to your brands, retail environments, and competitive set with real or estimated metrics for success

- Ensure that the event programme reflects the overall marketing strategy of the development project and align with corporate branding. Ensure appropriate branding at all events

- Communicate and work with development teams and function teams to ensure that the event programme addresses leasing and sales needs. Work closely with internal stakeholders to meet the goals and objectives of each event

- Run the full campaign/event process for the property sales and promotional events, leveraging resources effectively.

Advertising and Creative Development

- Earn shared leadership role with creative agency in holistic brand management and marketing planning process, including new product development, positioning concepts, segmentation, marketing planning, creative execution, message distribution, measurement, and optimization

- Work with Ad Manager and/or agency to create the media schedule, negotiate the rates, prepare the deliverables and execute.

- Follow-up and measure the advertising campaign using print and online methods.

Leadership

- Encourage and support the development of our talented people.

- Offers honest and constructive feedback to direct reports and business partners fostering individual and group development.

- Continuously stretches the Team to perform at higher level keeping each Team member focused on the business strategy, plan and opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

- MBA from a reputed institution is a must with strong analytical and marketing skills

- Must have at least 15 years experience in Marketing with 5 years in a leadership role.

- Global business experience preferred.
