Senior Finance Manager

This role provides a unique opportunity to the right candidate to help set up the finance function at our company from the ground up. You will be responsible for ensuring that the financial strategy is in-tune with the overall business objectives of the company. This is a generalist finance role and will require you to dip your hands into several pots at once, depending on the business need. The effective fulfilment of this role would result in you being part of a successful organization that is building products that will define a new industry in India & abroad.

Financial Strategy and Planning:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with the company's long- term goals and objectives.

- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

- Collaborate with different product related departments to collect input, ensure that company direction is aligned with overall financial strategy.

Process Optimization:

- Design, implement, and manage efficient financial processes and controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency.

- Continuously evaluate and improve financial procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.

- Set up processes that seamlessly align with business objectives.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to set realistic and achievable financial targets.

- Create and maintain accurate financial forecasts to guide resource allocation and investment decisions.

- Create and maintain financial models to assist, advise and drive business decisions by gaining buy-in from both internal and external stakeholders.

Financial Analysis:

- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, cost analysis, and ROI assessments.

- Provide regular reports and insights to key stakeholders, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.

- Empower the Founder in fundraising with valuations, TAM, SAM, SOM & revenue projections.

Cash Flow Management:

- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure the company's financial stability and sustainability.

- Implement strategies to optimize cash utilization and reduce financial risks.

- Develop and maintain best practices for book-keeping and accounting.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

- Labor law compliances (Shops & Establishments, PF, PT, ESI, Gratuity, etc.)

- Verification of GST return Input tax credits with GSTR 2A and timely follow-ups with vendors.

- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate annual audits and tax filings.

Team Leadership and Development:

- Build the finance function from scratch, assist in hiring a high-performing finance team when the business requirement needs team expansion.

- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship.

- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the finance department.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in finance or Accounting (Qualified CA Mandatory).

- Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior finance role, with a track record of successfully managing finance functions.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, ZohoBooks, Tally, etc.).

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.

- Prior experience in a start-up or high-growth environment is a plus.

- Proven experience of handling at least two compliance cycles in an organization
