GENERAL DETAILS:


Job Title: Analyst UK-VAT


Job Location: Mumbai (Povai)


Shift Timing: UK shifts (11AM-8 PM/ 12 PM-9 PM)


Sat/Sunday Fixed Off


Compensation - Based on current CTC


Education- Any graduate


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: (DESIRABLE)


- Understanding of UK taxation rules


- Knowledge of Word and Power point


EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:


- Total experience: 1.5-6 years


- CA / Inter CA / ATT / MBA Finance - Graduate with UK VAT Experience (Preferred)


EXPERIENCE:


- CA with 1-3 years / Inter CA with 3-4 years / MBA Finance - Graduate with 3-4 years


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


- To prepare Quarterly VAT returns promptly in order to maximize cash flow benefits to Prudential and avoid errors and penalties.


- Assist the UK team on Capital Goods scheme and Annual Adjustment calculation


- To continuously review and monitor the adequacy of systems, procedures and other relevant records to ensure compliance with VAT and other taxation regulatory bodies


- Preparation and Filing of Error Correction Notes to HMRC


- To keep abreast of current developments relating to VAT and other taxation issues and to ensure that appropriate staff are kept informed


- Sound knowledge of VAT technicals (Reverse charge, Place of supply rules, Partial Exempt business)


- Assist with project work as and when required.


- Prepare Monthly/quarterly dashboard for analytical review and to capture trends for reasonability, highlight any material variances


- To be able to provide effective cover for other team members, in particular, to be able to process critical activities within tight deadlines.


- To ensure all process related documentations are timely updated to show changes.


- To be responsible to build constructive rapport with stakeholder through meetings, discussions and encouraging feedbacks.


- To demonstrate a positive risk, compliance and control culture through the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of risks and issues within the business area, alongside ensuring timely and appropriate resolution of control weaknesses, actions and failures that arise.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: (KEY)


- Knowledge of Excel (incl advanced excel functions) and People Soft


- Good analytical skills and determination to complete a task.


- Understanding of basic accounting and taxation rules


- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
