Credit Trading desk is responsible for executing Trades, producing business critical MIS reports, Pricing models, analyzing companies and suggesting ideas to the trading desk and performing ad-hoc customized analysis.

The role requires sound understanding of Credit Markets, eye for detail and an ability to liaise with the trading desks to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of tasks/projects performed. Over the past year the team has created its own niche brand within the business and the person joining this team has got a great ask to drive this brand further.

The purpose of this role is to support the Credit Trading Desk research analysts/team by gathering/tracking/organizing relevant data and performing analysis in an efficient and timely manner to help come up with a differentiated viewpoint for our clients.

The Credit Trading - Research team comprises a team of Research Analysts in NY and London supporting the Trading desk. They provide insights and commentary on CDS and Corporate bonds issues by corporate in US. They share research views and analyse various names on the US credit market. The purpose of this role is to support the analysts/team by gathering/tracking/organizing relevant data and performing analysis in an efficient and timely manner to help come up with a differentiated viewpoint for our clients.

As a Research Analyst, the candidate will be expected to gather, track and analyze relevant data, update models/analysis, present findings to internal clients, assist with key research publications, adhoc research projects, etc.

- The candidate will be required to work with team members based in New York, to perform the required analyses to generate new ideas as well as produce research reports

- The candidate will work as an individual contributor and should have a basic understanding of the credit markets

- The candidate will need to gather and organize data meaningfully to analyze and evaluate trends for various credit products - bonds, CDS etc

- The candidate should be proficient in dealing with large data sets and have good quantitative skills as he/she will need to update and analyse various databases and models maintained by the team. He/she will also be required to suggest modelling changes/improvements

- The team deals with a large volume of data and the candidate should have handled complex data as they would have to figure out optimal ways to structure data/databases so we can efficiently perform ongoing analysis. The candidate should be proficient in VBA so that he/she can automate tasks as well as develop new models or maintain existing models

- The candidate will be expected to keep track of relevant news reports on bonds/CDS and also help the team in performing analysis of the potential impact of such news. Will have to monitor any news flow related to the companies and provide analysis on the same

- The candidate will also be required to update marketing and other presentations which would help our traders understand our analysis and viewpoints

- The candidate will need to have excellent written communication skills so he can contribute to writing-up ongoing updates

- The candidate should have excellent verbal communication skills he/she would need to interact with the team on a daily basis.

- Working knowledge of Bloomberg

- Good understanding of the Distressed Credit Business

- Will be responsible for populating financial statement data into the financial models for the companies that the role holder will be covering

Person Specification

Engineering/MBA Graduate required with 1-3 years of relevant experience (IB experience, current or previous is mandatory).

- Should have extensive knowledge of VBA and Advanced Excel as the candidate would have to analyze data in Excel using Macros and build new models/modify existing models as required

- Candidate should have experience dealing with large data sets and financial models

- Strong analytical, problem solving and programming skills as the candidate would have to build reports and analyze the data logically

- Strong attention to detail is required

- Flexible to work long hours when required

- Good Team Player

- Ability to meet challenges proactively and with resourcefulness in developing alternative approaches

- Demonstrated ability to work in a time sensitive environment as time to market is key

- Comprehensive knowledge of Distressed Credit Products
