Analyst/Associate - Investment Banking - Financial Services Startup

An emerging financial services platform operating across Institutional Broking, Fund Advisory & Management, Debt and Equity Capital markets is looking to onboard a smart and dynamic Investment Banking Analyst / Associate to support the firm's Founders and Clients in various aspects of financial transactions, analysis, and deal-making at our head office in Andheri, East Mumbai.

Job Summary:

- As an Investment Banking Analyst / Associate, you will work closely with the firm's founders and clients to provide financial analysis, market research, and transactional support for a wide range of investment banking activities. Your role will involve data analysis, financial modelling, pitchbook creation, and assisting in the execution of debt and equity capital raising, IPO advisory, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and other financial advisory transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis and Modeling:

- Build complex financial models to analyze potential investment and funding opportunities, valuations, and financial projections.

- Conduct thorough financial statement analysis and interpret key financial metrics.

- Perform company and industry research to support decision-making and transaction strategies.

Pitchbook Creation:

- Assist in the creation of pitchbooks and presentations for client meetings, showcasing investment and funding ideas, valuation & cashflow analyses,and strategic recommendations.

- Collaborate with senior bankers to craft compelling narratives that highlight the benefits of various financial strategies.

Market Research:

- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape to identify potential opportunities and risks.

- Analyze macroeconomic factors and their potential impact on client investments.

Transaction Support:

- Contribute to the due diligence process by gathering, organizing, and analyzing relevant information.

- Prepare transaction documents, including offering memoranda, prospectuses, and regulatory filings.

Client & Banker / Investor Interaction:

- Participate in client and banker / investor meetings and presentations, assisting senior bankers in communicating investment strategies and recommendations.

- Build and maintain client relationships through effective communication and professionalism.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, and operations, to ensure smooth transaction execution.

- Work closely with senior bankers to execute transactions and provide support throughout the deal lifecycle.

Ad Hoc Responsibilities:

- Assist in various ad hoc projects, including market analysis, financial reporting, and internal process improvement initiatives.

- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, financial news, and market trends.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field (Master's degree is preferred).

- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience. Candidate will be given case studies to work on and present.

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Detail-oriented and strong attention to accuracy.

- Candidates who have worked on BFSI related deals will be preferred.
