Responsible for regulatory and/or safety compliance of assigned product lines and markets by: - Conducting concept/category reviews, label and claims development, international claims support and investigation of - products, raw materials, ingredients, formulas and packaging for regulatory compliance. - Evaluating new and existing products against regulations, developing and leading proactive approaches and strategies to ensure regulatory and/or safety compliance and prevent/avoid product compliance issues. - Supporting key product and business strategies by reviewing, monitoring and interpreting the impact of current, pending, and future product regulations and/or safety requirements, managing risk assessment, and participating in the compilation and maintenance of databases for regulations and related regulatory and/or safety compliance issues. - Actively participating and providing advice and counsel to cross-functional domestic and international project teams on product labeling requirements, product safety, product specifications, formula, raw material, customs clearance and artwork to support new product launches and maintain regulatory compliant products. - Initiating, preparing and publishing regulatory assessment reports. - Facilitating proactive product safety and/or regulatory reviews in support of both new product launch and existing product fulfillment. - Recommending compliance strategy and/or safety testing with full consideration of product quality. - Ensuring testing protocols are designed, reviewed, and implemented to assure products are safe for the customer under expected usage conditions and regulations. - Interpreting data and regulations, providing and clearly communicating resolutions for technical/regulatory/safety challenges/issues for assigned products/markets to both Corporate and Affiliate staff. - Developing and maintaining relationships with industry, vendors, regulators and technical organizations to ensure continuous improvement and credibility of our regulatory/product safety programs. - Securing certifications for assigned products with external 3rd party certification organizations to meet market requirements. - Independently developing and revising procedures and processes for review and implementation. - Providing mentoring, coaching and support on technical programs and projects which may include directing the day-to-day work of laboratory technicians, lower level scientists/engineers, interns and/or contractors. LOCAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Purpose of the role : - To ensure regulatory compliances and approvals for Nutrition and consumer durable products are in place by liasoning with Govt. departments and regulators. Primary Responsibilities : - Ensure regulatory compliance (including all types of licensing) for assigned category of products - Preparation of dossiers for registration and obtain regulatory approvals from FDA, FSSAI authorities for various category of products - Regulatory review of products, ingredients and providing recommendations for compliance for existing and new products - Obtain regulatory information / dossiers from raw material suppliers - Provide regulatory support in providing response to legal notices from regulators - Provide regulatory support to Supply Chain team for custom clearance of related ingredients - Provide support to Regulatory Policy Influencing team on regulatory matters for Trade and Industry Association meetings CAREER LEVEL : SENIOR : - Requires complete understanding of a broad application of techniques, theoretical principles and practices of area of specialty. - Provides solutions to a wide - range of difficult technical issues and independently develops approach to solutions. - Leads complex technical projects. - Manages complex technical programs. - Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND/OR RELATED EXPERIENCE : - or equivalent experience gained from any combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work and life experience Education Degree Field Related Experience (years) Certification(s) / License(s) Post graduate Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical technology, Ayurveda, Food Technology, Bio-Technology 8-10 years in Regulatory affairs function in Food / Nutrition Supplement / FMCG industry or any Industrial Association Additional regulatory course certification is desirable Required skills and competencies : - Expert knowledge of regulatory compliance and registration of assigned products - Recognizing and communicating implications of emerging regulatory issues - Basic knowledge of Product development processes, principles and practices - Knowledge of Stability studies guidelines and GMP requirements for different category of products - Evaluating propositions or hypotheses and making judgments on the basis of well-supported evidence - Identifying and anticipating problems, reviewing related information, developing and evaluating options, making decisions and implementing solutions - Effectively communicating and presenting technical complex data to influence relevant stakeholders - Processing, documenting and providing timely information with a high level of accuracy in a usable format - Continuously seeking and sharing new developments, advancements and knowledge in relevant fields - Good knowledge of Industrial associations and experience in representing company in various forums
