Qualification/Experience Required:

- Prior experience at a "Big-4" accounting firm with extensive US GAAP and IFRS advisory knowledge along with technical skills on Global Accounting Policy is required.

Qualification: CA / CPA (10 to 12 years of experience post qualification)

Job responsibilities:

- Join the Global Accounting Policy and Advisory (GAPA) and the ICS Business Advisory Controllership teams within Amex, in providing expert US GAAP accounting advise on issues arising in the ICS business.

- Partner and collaborate with Business Advisory Controllers and Accounting & Reporting Controllers, business/finance contacts and Subject Matter Experts from GAPA to understand and resolve the US GAAP technical requests and queries and provide thought leadership accordingly.

- Lead in the reviews of primarily ICS accounting issues and propose appropriate resolutions.

- Contribute in the delivery of US GAAP and Amex training for US GAAP users as required.

- Monitor emerging US GAAP by staying apprised of upcoming developments that could impact the company in the future.

- Support the implementation of the new revenue recognition standard within the ICS business.

- Partner with IFRS Centre of Excellence for resolution of issues in IFRS Markets.

- Receive support from a high level team of US GAAP specialists which will provide unrivaled opportunity for growth and development.

Qualification/Experience Required:

- Prior experience at a "Big-4" accounting firm with extensive US GAAP and IFRS advisory knowledge along with technical skills on Global Accounting Policy is required.

Qualification: CA / CPA (10 to 12 years of experience post qualification)

- Minimum of ten to twelve years of financial accounting experience, preferably with experience at a "Big-4" accounting firm .

- Strong technical accounting knowledge and expertise

- Must have very strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely translate complex accounting jargon into plain English.

- Must have experience in the interpretation and application of accounting standards to a variety of transactions and have the ability to identify important aspects of a transaction that may drive accounting conclusions.

- Must have experience in writing accounting position papers.

- Must be able to work as part of a team in a consultative environment, constantly working with various groups within AXP, as well as work independently.

- Confident leader with outstanding relationship management skills.

- Collaborative team player with ability to build relationships and influence decisions and get things done with or without direct authority (matrix management) - strong influencing skills.

- Must have a demonstrated and proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced deadline-driven and constantly changing environment.
