Job Description - Technical Project Manager Technical Project Manager -&nbsp; - The Buyer Initiated Payments (BIP) delivery team is looking for a software professional to deliver solutions against product backlogs in an agile environment. BIP is a rapidly growing, global payment platform that facilitates payment between buyers and suppliers using unique capabilities and multiple methods of payment. This technology enables American Express' closed loop network of card members and merchant by providing a flexible mechanism to schedule, track and negotiate payment terms. In this role, you will be responsible for resolving impediments, managing risks and promoting agile framework activities and executing release level events. - You will partner with cross-functional product teams, business owners and engineering teams to determine and interpret objectives into solutions and requirements, drive processes and execution, escalate impediments, manage risk and promote continuous improvement. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Drives integrated teams to deliver technology solutions in support of key product initiatives by working closely with product owners, architects, engineers, and quality assurance - Be a true servant leader, coaching the team(s) in self-organization and cross-functionality; while driving execution oversight - Facilitate scrum events using framework processes - Guide product, business and technical stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment; providing support to&nbsp; - Product Owner(s) to sustain the Product Backlog including input to story definition, dependencies, requirements definition and release plan. - Manages and tracks team velocity, financials, and other KPIs in relation to the plan and published progress reports - Assigns development resources to activities, and monitors performance across resource channels - Maintains dependency plan between planned sprints across engineering, infrastructure, and third parties - Manages, and appropriately escalates, delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes tied to the product development initiatives - May perform hands-on reviews of product backlog, designs, code, test scripts, and results in addressing delivery impediments or product quality issues - Ensures deliverables across engineering teams are high quality and clearly documented - Identifies opportunities to adopt innovative technologies - Provide visibility into gaps, issues, blockers, while providing efficient solutions to impediments for continuous development - Contribute to the resolution of wider organizational impediments that impact the team(s) - Work in tandem with Agile Coaches to drive program, release level and enterprise improvements and standardization activities utilizing a variety of agile methodologies - Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem solving. Qualifications -&nbsp; This high energy Technical Project Manager must have: - 8+ years of technical project management experience - Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience - Deep understanding of all aspects of software design with a demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility - Experience facilitating Agile, Scrum or other rapid application development teams to deliver technology solutions on time, on budget, and to spec - Strong understanding of iterative development processes (SAFe, LeSS, DAD etc), including quality and testing practices - Have at least first level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I) ideally CSP, PSM II and any other relevant agile qualifications and training - Experience with object-oriented design and coding skills across a variety of platforms (JAVA, HTML5, ORACLE, XML) - Coding experience and ability to code with team members and help drive solutions - Experience managing project budgets and reporting - Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate across third parties and technical and business product managers with a strong attention to detail. - Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies and takes pride in how fast they develop working software - Experience with REST services and open API development is a plus - Experience with payments technology and industry is a plus - At the core of Software Engineering - Every member of our team must be able to demonstrate the following technical, functional, leadership and business core competencies, including: - Agile Practices - Porting/Software Configuration - Programming Languages and Frameworks - Business Analysis - Analytical Thinking - Business Product Knowledge Job type- Full Time Industry Type - Digital Commerce The Apply Button will redirect you to website.
