Description:


Execute quantitative model and data governance audits at American Express Company (AXP) and its subsidiaries. Key audits within an area of responsibility include Asset Liability Management, Data Governance, Basel, Credit Risk Management and Decisioning, Operational Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, CCAR. The candidate will execute multiple audits simultaneously. Audits will primarily focus on the design and operating effectiveness of controls related to the processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidance.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


- Assist team leaders and managers in accomplishing audit objectives in a team environment


- Participate as a key team member on ALM, Data governance, Basel, Credit Risk Management and Decisioning, Operational Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, and CCAR related audit projects.


- Execute reviews of the American Express economic capital, Basel Regulatory Capital, liquidity risk management and model risk governance


- Understand, identify, evaluate and document key risks and associated controls


- Document the processes under review


- Execute audit tests competently in accordance with policies and procedures


- Work with team leaders and managers to develop audit test steps and can assume responsibility for key process areas of moderate complexity


- Proficient use of automated work papers and other department and company tools


- Maintain internal audit competency through ongoing professional development


Required Skills/qualification


- One to three years of experience in the banking industry with internal audit function preferred


- Experience in Asset Liability Management, liquidity risk management, economic capital, Basel Regulatory Capital or Consumer Credit risk processes preferred


- MBA in finance or professional certification (CFA, FRM or equivalent) preferred


- Experience in working in teams


- Ability to think analytically, communicate complex issues, and develop control recommendations


- Strong background in statistical modeling and experience with statistical tools ( R, SAS etc)


- Strong experience in Machine learning and data science and proficiency in python


- Effective written and verbal communication


- Demonstrated track record of integrity, innovation, and excellence


- Strong analytical skills


- Acute attention to detail


- Experience designing, executing and validating complex Excel-based models


- Data delivery and presentation experience with Excel and PowerPoint


- Knowledge on statistical models or SR 11 7 guidelines would be an added advantage


- Can-do attitude


Qualifications :


- MBA in Finance or related fields such as Professional certification (CFA, FRM or equivalent) preferred
