Service Delivery Leader (SDL) - Controllership - AEBC India  This position is responsible for the legal entity controllership activities for American Express Banking Corp. (AEBC). Incumbent will report to the AEBC India Controller in supporting bank management, finance organizations, Board of Directors, internal and external auditors, and regulators (RBI, NYSFDS, Others). This is a people leader role, responsible for team of 3-4 individuals.   This leader will play an integral role in achieving our goal to protect and assure the integrity of the financial statements, proactively eliminate controllable financial risk and exposure to the business, and regularly attest to the accuracy and effectiveness of financial reports and controls.   The incumbent will additionally be responsible for supporting critical business initiatives and providing accounting and reporting decision support as part of a world-class controllership organization and will have primary responsibility for :   - Leading US, India GAAP and RAP accounting and book closure   - Ensure financial statement integrity and perform analytical reviews   - Leading financial and operational accounting processes for the legal entity   - Serving as point of contact and supporting audits/exams performed by internal, external auditors and regulators   - Supporting new deals, partnerships, processes, products, and regulatory requirements   - Interpreting critical accounting policies and resolution of accounting and reporting issues, providing accounting thought leadership including documentation and maintenance of memoranda for record ( MFRs )   - Preparation and review of annual US & India GAAP/ IND AS financial statements and disclosures   - Developing and leading critical quality initiatives to improve financial processes and add value to the Organization   - Development and Review of standard operating procedures and Implementation of Spread sheet controls   - Developing talent and build a world class organization  Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.   Qualifications :   - Chartered Accountant / Certified Public Accountant / MBA from a premier institute, with 5 + years of post qualification industry experience. 2+ years India banking industry experience preferred   - Ensuring high level of accuracy and timeliness in dynamic environment   - Strong accounting background and the ability to interpret US, India GAAP and American Express policies to practical application. Exposure to IFRS/IND AS preferred   - Knowledge of American Express business environment and/or card industry in general.   - Proven ability to effectively present to and interact with senior management, regulators, audit firm(s)   - Strong collaborative, relationship and leadership skills   - Ability to operate in a matrix environment and a decentralized structure   - Excellent communication and consulting skills   - People leadership experience preferred   Job type- Full Time  Industry Type - Finance   The Apply Button will redirect you to website.
